A team as bad as the Maple Leafs clinching a playoff spot just makes things seem that much worse.

**** em.
Didnt the oilers do a ton of giveaways, and a shinny game at hawrelak
then half off concessions for the first 2 or 3 games ><

That Nik Lidstrom guy, maybe he did have something to do with Detroit's 2 decades of success.

Yup, in fact I thought our reach out to the fans was better than many organizations.

This was put together AFTER a backlash of complaints from fans on how cheap this org was. They threw this together after Laforge stated it wasn't necessary to do anything but provide a winning product..

Even at that the hawreluk skate was announced at last minute on twitter, hardly anybody knew about it, and it was 20mins skate if that and had and done before most fans even realized it was going on.

Half off concesions for first few games? never heard of that. I heard of free small bag of popcorn.

They gave away a bunch of jerseys and offered to have them autographed, but the thing is 90% of the jerseys were given to season ticket holders. Which is fine by me, but they didn't screen the accounts and of those jerseys a LOT were given to corporate or business owned accounts. Which was way bush IMO. When I did my customer satisfaction survey a few weeks ago I ripped them for that, I just wish they would have waited until the end of the season so I could torch them for the crappy job they did on fan appreciation night.

They also did a free beer on opening night, and they had the social media jersey give aways as well, but at that point just about every team in the league was doing something like that.

At our fan appreciation night at Rexall they gave us a free popcorn, and they had some fairly minor give aways and games through out the game. I went to both and the Flames org did a way better job.

Insanity. When (if) the Oilers make the playoffs in the next couple of years I'm sure that we'll see a similar post... somewhere.

Flames are up 1-0 against Minnesota with yet another rookie getting his first NHL goal. Mark Cundari.

The Flames have these players scratched today: Cervenka, McGrattan, Jones, Glencross, Begin, Wideman, Aliu, Irving, Babchuk, Tanguay and Bancks.

They're really going all out to tank but it's not working.

EDIT: The Wild just tied it.

The Wild are outshooting the Flames 25-12. Cowgary has a massive horseshoe lodged somewhere right now.

I don't know. I just laugh at flames fans who will never support a high pick when the games are meaningless now

A lot of Flames fans already think that some of these rookies are legit and are ready to contribute immediately next season. I'd laugh... but considering that it sounds all too familiar... I'll refrain.

It's tough to judge talent at the end if the year. Teams could not be taking Calgary seriously, rookies play looser as well.

4-1 Flames.

Anyone else enjoying the Wild's collapse? Looks good on them.

I'm sure that the Oilers will give the Wild an emotional lift going into the playoffs.

Jackets win 4-3 in regulation. Ryan Johansen with the winner late in the third.

Thanks to the Blue Jackets win an Oilers loss means that they'll be officially eliminated from playoff contention for the 7th consecutive year.

Put us out of our misery when you play us. This garbage team and its garbage coach doesn't deserve to make the playoffs.

You'll forgive me if I have a hard time mustering up sympathy for a team that's currently in a playoff spot.
