Three Plusses:

1) Simmonds hat-trick. Weird how players are getting goals like buses lately.
2) Jake's 20th. We got a keeper here.
3) Ignoring the stats, Mason played well again. Very impressive start.

Three Minuses:
1) Briere continues to suck.
2) Gagne owes Giroux about 5 points. I've never seen such wayward shooting from stellar set-up play.
3) I just didn't care from the first to the last. It was a waste of my time and that of everyone else involved.

Gus finished with just over 22 minutes. Only one with more was L Schenn who had about 25. Lauridsen played a little over 18. Thought they all had good games, especially Gus. I can't remember him getting beat tonight.

Sadly, I believe we have. in 09-10, Richards set Gagne up for some incredible chances and he couldn't bury anything. It was really frustrating, because Richards would often forgo a clear shot for the pass.

It's great that Gagne can still get in the right spots, but he's gotta hit the net.

But really though, I think it was actually worse then...because at times it looked like Richards was going out of his way to get Gagne going. Whereas now, it's just Roo doing his thing.

I think he'll be alright. He has def lost some of his finish but he's still a smart player who can find open ice and hasn't really slowed down much either. Everybody goes through streaks like this, where they just can't hit the back of net, though some more then others (briere and Hartnell come to mind). I would still look to re-sign him for cheap and not just cause its gagne.

Just watched the high lights- were we that bad in our own end the WHOLE game or just for the goals - regardless that is brutal.

No surprise all year tho.

Hey guys, do you know if and where I could go back and watch the CSN Philly broadcast from last nights game? Center Ice only only had the Hurricanes feed. My wife and I went to the game with our 14 month old daughter and she had a blast. The camera caught her a couple times because we were 3 rows from the ice, but in the pre game warm ups she stood on th glass and Matt Read gave her some attention and gave her a puck. I got some photos of it, but I was wounding if the feed had anything. We also talked to Coatesy for about 10 minutes. We don't get to see these guys much since we are in VA, but I will say Coatsey is a great guy and it was really nice that Matt Read gave my daughter some special attention.

Just for the goals, really. The Flyers dominated large parts of the game--Carolina looked completely disinterested.

Ignoring the stats, Bryzgalov has generally been bad.

This is probably just an insignificant coincidence but...

Take the last 16 games.

Flyers are 7-0 when Couturier scores a point.

Flyers are 0-9 when he doesn't.

There was a brief (2 second, maybe) shot during one of those clips they show coming back from a commercial of a woman (w/ glasses, IIRC) and a baby talking to a player who wore uniform #2_. It stood out to me because I thought it was cool of the player to do that and I was trying to figure out who it was. Anyway, the clip aired at least twice.

He's the kind of player I want to mentor/play with Couturier.

This is trouble because he hasn't scored too many points this year.

A .903 save percentage after 109 games played in is "good"?

Probably that thought Biron wasn't good enough.

He's also been benched a lot by Lavi for just about anything and given the **** end of the stick with linemates. He's definitely struggled this year but Lavi's done him no favors neither.

Disagree with your point that Bryzgalov has been bad this year.If anything there has been a lack of support in front of the tenders this season I hope that the brass keep him and Mason for next season. I feel way more comfortable with that combo vs Mason and ?. That at least buys them more time to evaluate Mason and to a certain extent Stolarz. Then if they have to they can amnesty Bryz. But that's my opinion.

Have you watched him play? There's a reason he's a league-wide laughingstock, you know. It's not a massive conspiracy. It's a reaction to his poor play.

EDIT:
Agree'd. Mason and Bryz can fight for the starting position. I didn't realize that they can amnesty him next summer instead if they want.

If we would have lost this game, we would have been tied for 13th with Carolina winning.
