All these dudes plucked from the East for nothing but late picks.
And Shero makes great move after great move in Pittsburgh with a huge salary base too! Heck without Crosby AND Malkin they are an insane 17-3 because everyone he picked up from Murray to Jokinin to Iggy to Morrow are playing great hockey AND PRODUCING!

And lost in all this is the move Shero made BEFORE THE SEASOn to bring in Voukon as a BACK UP to M-A F! TV is better than EITHER of our guys!

And yet Bowman stands pat..

You're honestly comparing a pair of 21 year old goaltending prospects to a pair of career AHLers? This fanbase should know more than anyone that you don't know what you have with a goalie until they actually get some playing time in the NHL. If they both bust out in Rockford in the following years you'll have a point, but writing Simpson and Carruth off this early is just stupid.

Either we win the Cup and he is forever vindicated and never doubted or this team bombs and he is on the hot seat.

Last 5 years...

Stanley Cups: Penguins 1, Blackhawks 1

Regular season records:
Penguins 226, 116, 16
Blackhawks 221, 106, 30

No difference in the end result. Blackhawks have a better pipeline. Penguins flushed theirs.

Pens didn't flush anything. They traded a couple picks and a decent prospect, nothing they will miss at all. They needed to clear some space for other prospects anyway.

they will miss those pieces and Morrow is a pretty good D prospect that would be our best D prospect once we would get him

That's not saying much and it isn't going to hold them back whatsoever. They have a deep prospect pool too. They should be commended for the trades they made. Brilliant work by Shero and it's the trades that have kept them winning despite losing their best player. Can't say enough about how much that man wants to win a Cup.

Why would a guy who assembled one of the best NHL teams in history be on the hot seat? At this point, if we lose early in the playoffs, everyone but Bowman should be on the hot seat.

Not saying they won't miss him but Joe Morrow is a top prospect. (HF Top 50). So that would be like the Hawks moving Teravainen for Morrow which would be stupid. Morrow is a better prospect right now than Clendening.

Whom I'm not sure anyone would have wanted to deal to Dallas for Morrow anyway

yeah, it's not Bowmans fault if this team sucks in the POs.

J. Morrow was redundant in Pit's system but I think they'll miss him next year since blueline depth and overall talent will continue to be the weak area over there. I think they could have had a much better return than Brendan Morrow. Maybe it will work out but I'm expecting him to wear down significantly, like last year.

I don't think the trade really hurt the Pens, but I do think they wasted a valuable asset for the most part. I'm not sold on J. Morrow being a top 4 anytime soon, but the demand was certainly there to land a better return.

Too many Stan haters on these boards because he doesn't make deadline trades that make a big splash. Deadline trades is when GM's overpay.

I never liked Stan from the beginning because he walked into a gold mine organization and didn't have to do anything huge to win.

He is competent and I wouldn't put him in the top 5 GM's but Stan is clearly between #6-10 in the league as far as building the organization from where he started.

Stan drafts well, and his trades are a little better than average. Free agent signings not many, but respectable. Overall, Stan has done a pleasantly surprising job. I thought he would be riding the coattail of success and be incompetent but he probably has earned an extension if the Hawks get into the Western Conference final.

I'm not sure of either, would rather play the goalie playing best.

However Emery has had much more success in the PO then Crawford.

Oh so he isn't playing in the NHL right now?

He is playing well and right now is the hot goalie. His injury is in the past and has nothing to do with now.

so the injury is in the past (even though he's injured now/was recently, not sure if it was related), but his po performance from 6 years ago is still relevant despite the fact the last time he was in the po's he got lit up by nashville? if you want emery to start in the po's that's fine, i disagree, but at least use valid arguments. po performance from half a decade+ ago are completely irrelevant.

I realize that this thread is a month old but at no point this season has Emery been a better goalie than Crawford. Emery had a whale of a game against Calgary early in the season to keep the Hawks streak alive, but other than that has been very average, and Crawford has typically faced the tougher teams and seen more shots come his way.

Neither goalie has been very good as of late, Crawford has been great in some games and completely awful in others. Emery has just been pretty meh all year long. Most of the credit has to go to the defense, the PK has been phenomenal. Outside of a few huge lazy/boneheaded plays by Oduya and Seabrook the D-men have been absolutely outstandin pretty much all year. Saad, Kruger, & Frolik also deserve a huge pat on the back for their marked improvements on D.

Ladies and gentlemen, both goaltenders are about to be awarded the Jennings Trophy, and if the GMs factor in Win %age in their votes tomorrow, one of them will also win the Vezina. They're going to share time in the playoffs based on Q's ultimately informed gameday decision.

Please study the stats in the link below to understand what a blessed position the Blackhawks are in.
