the defense is weak, that 5th round pick they gave up for the bigger dew dude, bust.

have to stuggle with what we have, but in the playoffs this team will get punished , and are little team will have to endure the heat

MB sees i hope, the small team that is here, is needing a grow spurt.

untill then, teams have figured out how to beat the habs, and no call ups will change that now.

MB held off , and did not overpay for bigger guys at the deadline, so be it.

we will have to watch what we have, and it won't be pretty.

Therrien's tenure might be a short one if he cannot go back to the moment that everything went bottom up and start over.

He was fired by the Pens and was given another shot,he had our guys believing but now it seems that they have given up on themselves and on him.

Gorges saying the team was soft was bang on, the Caps looked like they were playing vs a beer league team last night. I have more respect for Ovie and co after last night, it could have been 8-1 but they chose not to do it. The Habs looked like little boys looking for their mothers. Price looked like he needs a new blankie, they need to grow a pair, throw out the thrift shop garbage and listen to some death metal, get pissed off.

Pacioretty is garbage, I dont blame DD or Gorges for this, I blame Pacioretty.

Price is garbage, needs to step up and steal us a game, many times it's a game like Reimer played last night for the Leafs that gets everyone believing again.

Gionta everywhere Gionta and the same with Boullion, way, way to much and are exploited on every shift and it's hurting us badly. I am dissapointing by it all, but realisticly we are not physical enough and teams have figured it out, they are exploiting us and the ship is leaking and sinking fast, back to the drawing board I guess.
I know we should not throw in the towel given the season we have had. However, in the last 15 games we have been playing middling hockey reminiscent of last season. We are 7-8-0 in the time period and looking very bad.

It is hard to pinpoint one reason for this. First, we are indeed, as you mentioned, not physical enough. The smaller players on our team must be tired out by now. Second, the defense is not playing very well and looks ordinary and painfully slow. There is no one that would intimidate the opposition and slow them down entering the zone. Third, Price is not playing like a 6.5 million goalie. There are probably others, such as the mental side of the game, that I have not mentioned that also played a role as well.

I just hope they start to turn it back on this week so we can go into the playoffs on a high note. I think they can turn things around.

That they're small, not getting any goaltending and their pp just revolves around them passing it to Subban and Markov hoping they can blast the puck past an NHL goalie that can see the shot clear as day, or hope he gives up a rebound and our midget forwards can out muscle someone for the puck and not miss the net ?

Yeah, I don't see how no one has figured that out yet.

The powerplay is atrocious. The days of seeing Cammalleri and Kovalev snipe and do one-timers are gone. It's all about the defensemen at the point, and that is unfortunate.

That's because we have garbage PP forwards they have no choice but to go with Subban and Markov.

Normally I'd hope that Pacioretty could fill the big sniper shoes but he's playing like garbage this season.

So who sits once Armstrong returns? Moen? Halpern? Armstrong?

Pacioretty - Galchenyuk - Ryder
Bourque - Plekanec - Gallagher
Gionta - Eller - Desharnais
Prust - Halpern - Armstrong/Moen

the only logical answer is Moen.

oh and, we're only losing because we needed a little drama on 24ch before the playoffs

Desharnais.

Maybe he'll grow a few inches, grow some balls, learn to win faceoffs, or you know, learn this ability to be useful without the puck if he's suppose to be an integral part of our future.

Top blocked shots for forwards on our team ?

Eller - 32
Gallagher -28
Galchenyuk - 24
Prust - 24

Our rookies don't play the pk, where forwards should rack up more blocked shots, but yet they're only behind Eller.

At the start of the season everyone back checked and everyone (for the most part) finished their check.

Habs need to get back to basics. Even worse is it's not like they're getting dominated. They're getting no goaltending support and don't make it difficult on the opposing goalie by sending bodies to the net. Best way to score ? Send players and the puck to the net.

Too many ineffective midgets on this team.

DD NEEDS to gtfo, same as Gionta.
Bouillon is terrible too. Rather have a Tinordi-like D to play his minutes and actually be a physical presence.

This.
The D lacks size and grit. We need a big tough Dman on each pairing, so that there is someone who can push back when things get physical.

Fluke IMO. The PP shooting% is really high and almost all the goals have a hand from Subban/Markov (which suggests no point covering the forwards).

Also PP % notoriously go down in the playoffs for most teams. Teams just play at that much of a higher level. Might as well assume our powerplay will suck in the playoffs, just like it has every year when we were #1 in the league in PP.

Not to mention that we won't be getting as many PP's in the po's.

In what world are we playing New Jersey. The bruins are going to rage into 2nd. Their troubles are not at all like ours. Expecting them to win at least 4 of 5.

These are dark days, my friend.

Its so sad to that Gally doesn't smile anymore.

Glad they are finishing on the road... its just too shameful to be dominated at home.

Agreed, but injuries are having more of an impact than "The book" being read. We are sitting pretty with this year's draft and player development IMO. Lets see what MT can do
