More expensive future: Derek Forbort vs. Nathan Beaulieu

Both are D-men that can bring some offense to their game, Forbort has size, while Beaulieu can skate with the likes of Subban and have a hard shot. However, Forbort is still in college while Beaulieu played his first NHL game this year. Admittedly, Beaulieu had his growing pains but he will become better in the coming years.

Who will have the more expensive future?

Forbort hasn't played a single NHL game yet... but how good has he been in Manchester?

He's been pretty solid. Though I wouldn't look to him for much offense in the future. I'd expect around 15-20 points per year, when he is a regular in the NHL. He is being groomed as a defensive defenseman.

Beaulieu. He's the flashy offensive guy, so he'll be more expensive.

Haven't really liked either from what I've seen of them so I doubt they turn out to be expensive NHLers, and both teams have good GMs that manage contracts responsibly. So I guess neither?

Ok one of them has to be more expensive than the other.

Unless either gets overpaid in free agency.

I saw Beaulieu play a few Saturdays ago and man did he look great, very poised and made smart plays. Can't really comment on the other guy.

Beaulieu is the leading scorer of his AHL team, a raw rookie dman with few call ups with MTL this year. Show how pathtic that Bulldogs lineup was this season.

Nate Beaulieu will be more expensive. A great skater, puck-mover, and PP quarterback.
They always end up costing a pretty penny.
