While I don't like how they are losing with some of the mental mistakes we're seeing, a loss is definitely not a bad thing in the bigger picture.

Unfortunately, San Jose is losing.

I understand your optimistic even when he's bad, but if we're gonna sit roster players, he should be high on that list.
I am not necessarily disagreeing with benching him the rest of the game or next.

I disagree that he is just going through the motions. Lack of execution not lack of effort

Bad games happen. If it happens a couple more times between now and the end of the season, then we should worry. We aren't going to be lights out every night.

I think we'll get back into this, whether we'll get anything out of it is another matter.

Leopold has been quietly bad for about a week+ now. He was the guy that got beat not once, but twice on the Bickell goal in Chicago. He clearly led to at least one, if not two, goals tonight. There are other examples I've seen recently but can't think of off the top of my head. He's been nigh-on worthless on the PP, but then everyone has been so I guess I should give him a pass for that. He has looked solid on the PK, but once again, our team does well on the PK, so if I'm giving him a pass on the PP, I don't think it's fair to credit him for the PK.

He's been here 11 (12 after tonight) games and has yet to register a point, even though he logs 2nd line PP minutes. I wouldn't say he's worthless, but I think it's time to put Jaxs back with Shatty and give Russell another go with Polak.

It's frustrating to watch this team this year, but hopefully the silver lining we can take out of this is that we're still in the playoffs and our RFAs are costing themselves serious money with their own poor performance. Once you get into the dance, anything can happen. Elliott will shake this off, he's been so amazing he was due for a bad game. (Not that really any of these goals are his fault, pretty much every goal scored has been from 5 feet away)

I'm okay with a loss this game as well. I just hope we can clinch a spot by winning a game instead of other teams losing out themselves...ie last year.

Lol Leopold wasn't brought in to put up points or be a defensive defenseman. He is what he is, a mediocre player that has decent puck moving skills. I wouldn't say he is bad but he's basically just an older, taller, more experienced Russell.

Despite how well the defense has played, I still want to see Jackman-Shattenkirk & Leopold-Polák. I don't understand why the formula for the pairings changed, particularly with how it has impacted on the play of Shattenkirk.

Why the hell is Perron playing 3rd line. Should have just kept Jaskin there and moved Perron to 4th for his stupid play that lead to the goal.

Schwartz is just going to be so good. Full off-season training with a training camp is going to do wonders, won't be surprised to see him get 1st/2nd line minutes all next year.

Losing this game might lock us in the 6th seed and avoid LA

Yeah, he's been playing great for most of this season.

That last save is why Jake Allen is the man.

So calm.

Are we really that concerned with having home ice advantage? We played damn well on the road this year. I know we won't get to 4th now with this loss (right?), I'll just be happy when we clinch a spot...any spot. Even if it's 8th, facing Chicago wouldn't be an ideal situation for us, but we have to learn to beat the best teams to really go far.
