I'm really sick of it. Berglund was just waiting down low for the puck. Nope, Leopold takes the shot himself because he's an offensive juggernaut...

Agreed. While the goal was disheartening and a save 99 times out of a hundred (exaggeration), what different would you have Allen do technically?

The amount of overreaction in this thread is crazy. Blues have won 9 of 11, so they've been playing well. The whole team has a bad game and suddenly the team is awful and every player on the team needs to be benched. They never play well in Colorado and they haven't tonight, but the pucks the Avs have been shooting have had eyes as well. Allen left a very very small opening as he was hugging the post and they scored.

Relax! Deep breaths, even the best teams have bad games. Although it was in baseball, remember 2011, the Cards looked awful, but anything can happen, particularly in the playoffs. Let's go Blues!

We weren't winning this one anyway. That was the ass that hit Sobotka late. Well done, captain!

On the plus side, it doesn't matter. Allen already screwed 'em.

I think I've figured out why The Avs' PK is best in The NHL at home and terrible on the road. In Denver, their opponents are gassed (due to the thin air), while The Avs are used to it, and, therefore, are almost at even strength. Consistent with that, The Avs have a very good home record (where they have the oxygen/training advantage) and a terrible road record (because when they DON'T have that breathing advantage, the problems with their defence are much more exposed).

At least the forwards didn't quit. We have been clawing back this whole game.

Let's keep winning games 1-0 and 2-1, instead of losing games 5-3. K? K.

Lol McGinn went down like a sack of potatoes. Soft ass.

Horrible game anyways, who cares. Wasn't even expecting a win. Need to put some fresh legs in the lineuP, Hitch.

Backes deserved the penalty, but it wasn't anything more than a stupid little bump. Even though the game was already lost, I'm sure he'll hear about his stupidity from Hitch considering the comments after the last game.

Tuesday night is going to be fun.

Legitimate question: is Schwartz one of our best players(top 5 or 3)?

Not sure I buy that to be honest.

This phenomenon has been explained in other sports too (football with the Denver Broncos, for example) and apparently the results are mixed. Players have reported to gotten used to it after a short period of time into the game, and then after a while you don't even notice it. The Blues got into Colorado yesterday, so I'd imagine that they had broke past that threshold with a practice/skate.

Some believe it's all in your head, and others believe that there is a legitimate advantage.

I'm likely to lean toward the former.

Oh well, move on to the next one. Like others have posted, I'm just glad that we got more than 2 goals. Shake it off, get out of the "recreational activity" approved state and get back at it.

Guys that goal was not Allen's fault. Did you watch the replay? It was literally a one in a million thing. Just an unlucky break.

It was an idiotic play by Backes, but Parenteau should have gone too. He cross checked the hell out of Backes up high. Total frustration play there by Backes.

Anyone else watch the creativity the Avs have on offense and wonder why the heck we can't figure out how to do any of that?

I really don't blame all the goals on either goalie to be honest. Like someone else posted, the giveaways played their roles well

I don't get why people are making a big deal about the Backes play.

it was at the end of the game, who cares
