How can you be a Habs fan and NOT want to go watch the Habs play the Leafs in the playoffs??? I bought tickets to game 1, and to be honest I am pumped that we might end up playing the Leafs, and I'm hoping for it. This is what you dream of as a fan of this team.

For us the play the islanders, Leafs would have to get 3 points total against both florida teams and the habs at home

Panthers is almost lock 2 points for them...

edit; if leafs get 3 points , isles will need to finish with 59 points to move up which means winning all 3 games

if leafs get only 2 points, isles need 5 out 6 points to advance

The Leafs have next to no playoff experience in the NHL, especially their starting goalie. This could really work in our favor.

Crafty, can't get an infraction for that.

I know the playoffs are a completely different monster and the 2010 Halak playoff run was possibly the most epic thing I've ever seen I am not feeling it this season.

Yes, we've been playing awesome hockey. Yes we've surprised almost everyone; but now we've taken our foot off the pedal. We are a weak team both mentally and physically which is a complete 180 degree turn from what we were a month ago.

I don't know if Therrien is playing conservatively to prevent injuries before the playoffs or what but this is very depressing hockey to watch. I haven't watched the last 3 games because I knew we'd lose -- and we did.

Something needs to happen. I really hope Therrien has a plan because we look like ****ing fools out there against the leafs.

They know how to apply pressure to PK and Markov so they don't have time to set up shots. We can't just keep passing the puck back to set them up. WE need to get gritty and get right in there because whatever we were doing earlier is no longer working.

Good call on not saying that. However accurately funny it is, it would be mean. I appreciate that you showed some restraint.

Agreed, while Price has been ****** for a while now, but I have faith he will rebound and step it up in the playoffs (patrick roy was ****** for the last ten games...feels like 93', islanders will beat pittsburgh, we'll lose the first two games, everybody will panick.. and so on).

Also, as much as you guys like to crap on Gionta, Moen and even Ryder... those guys are cup winners and knows what it takes to go all the way (lets not forget DrewWhisky) . I mean, you can question Gio's leadership, but i'd rather him as a leader than grabovski or kessel.......

And finally, no matter the outcome of the series, I was pretty sick of always playing the bruins in the PO for the past 10 years...Time to build back that rivalry with Toronto that hasnt been here since the Kovy/Tucker days....

Such an awesome moment in time:

I hope the team brings that level of emotion. Seriously, Kovalev would have received 10 games under the Shanahan regime.

Leafs are undefeated in the playoffs over the last decade. We're doomed.

Of all the teams in the playoffs the Leafs and Isles are perhaps the best to face.

However, if the team plays like they have lately doesn't matter who they face - swept.

I don't care who'd win between the Leafs and the Habs. Having the 2 biggest fan bases meeting in the playoffs is a win-win for us!

I hope I've built up enough credibility in here so that you know I was just kidding around. But I admit the last nine days have left me a bit hypersensitive over anything hockey-related.

This is a playoff team. Remember when they beat the Bruins and the Pens in seven? Tryna say that they won't stand a chance against the Leafs? Hah. Other than Cammelleri, we still have all our key playoff performers. PK, Plek, Gionta, Markov are all gonna step it up in the playoffs. I can see Gallagher being a huge playoff warrior.
