#NYR agree to terms w/ forward Michael Kantor, 21, (6-0, 198 from Lake Forest, Ill.). Had been signed to ATO two days ago
Anyone with a run down on him as a player? 33 points in ~56 games with 96 PIM's. What am I missing?

Am curious if Charlie Dordero will also get an NHL deal (Was signed to an ATO the same day as Kantor). Kantor, I don't know much about, but Dordero has been talked up a few times on Brock Otten's OHL Thoughts blog as one of the better defensive defencemen and a guy Otten thought should get drafted last June (He didn't, ultimately).

Signed ATO with Connecticut a couple days ago, but today it was announced he signed an ELC with the Rangers. So the ELC starts next season.

The Calgary Flames Hockey Club announced today that they have signed defenseman John Ramage from the University of Wisconsin to an entry level contract.

Ramage, a native of St. Louis, MO, was the Calgary Flames 4th round pick (103rd overall) in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft and just finished his fourth and final season at the University of Wisconsin. The Badgers team captain finished his senior season with eight goals and 12 assists for 20 points and 65 penalty minutes in 42 games which were all career highs.

Contract terms: Two year entry level contract with a base salary of $600,000 in each season (2013-14 and 2014-15) and an AAV of $900,000 (including entry level performance bonuses).

Flames twitter has been pushing him hard this year. Am curious if they'll also sign John Gaudreau and Bill Arnold, as well.

Was just coming in to post this, that's why I often back off of posting signings until they're coming up from beat writers/capgeek/the team itself.

So, with Markus Granlund signing today and with about 40ish days to go, most of the the biggest name drafted players of 2011 are now signed.

The five highest-ranked unsigned players who need to be signed by June 1st are all 2nd round picks and reads as follows.

LAK: Christopher Gibson, G (Chicoutimi, QMJHL) [2nd, 49th]: By all accounts I read he's been pretty terrific. I know one guy tweeted that he was the main reason Chicoutimi made the playoffs and the main reason they were even competitive. Los Angeles doesn't have much depth beyond Martin Jones at the AHL level, so I'd be shocked if Gibson wasn't signed.

PHX: Alexander Ruuttu, C (Jokerit, SM-liiga) [2nd, 51st];: Son of former NHLer Christian Ruutu bounced back after a disappointing 2011-12 which saw him only suit up for 4 games in the SM-liiga. Good-sized forward (6 foot 2) seems to have an edge from his Penalty totals putting up 43 PIM in 35 games in the Finnish 2nd league and 52 PIM in 18 games at the elite level. Given how many Coyotes are UFAs this summer, I'd venture the Coyotes would sign him, even he's planning on staying in Finland next year.

NAS: Miika Salomaki, LW (Karpat, SM-liiga) [2nd, 52nd];: Average-sized forward has been a mainstay at the highest level of Finnish hockey since his draft year. I read some whispers that some KHL teams might be interested in him, but also read some rumors that he's close to signing with Nashville, too, so time will tell. I'd venture he gets signed.

ANA: William Karlsson, C (HV71, Elitserien) [2nd, 53rd];: Swedish forward made the jump to the highest level of Swedish hockey, the Elitserien, this year and played well putting up 28 points in 50 games at the age of 20. He's committed to another year in Sweden, but I think the Ducks will sign him.

CAR: Rasmus Bengtsson, D (Muskegon, USHL) [2nd, 59th];: I'm not sure that Bengtsson, technically, needs to be signed by the 1st or not as he was drafted out of Sweden but is playing in the USHL. Bengtsson more than doubled his point totals this season in the USHL, but there are definitely questions about him. Why did he turn down a pro deal in Sweden to come to North America? Then why did he turn down playing for in the WHL to say in the USHL? That said, he attended training camp with Florida's AHL affiliate this past fall, so he's likely still in Florida's plans. I think he'll get signed, too, but I suspect he's the most likely to have his rights lost of the five listed here.

Thought that would happen after last night's 2 goal, 3 assist performance!

I think a gun was jumped there. Shaw signed an ATO last year, IIRC, and it was assumed by some he might soon sign an ELC but that didn't happen.

I'm curious if the Oilers will still offer him a contract and let him develop in Finland. From his stats it looks like he turned a corner in his development this year.

Per this article, Nashville is close to signing 2012 draft pick Marek Mazanec. Mazanec, 21, led HC Plzen to the Czech Elite League title with a sparkling .930 save PCT and was the youngest goalie in history to lead his team to the title.

Nashville and an european goalie, I'll take note of the name...

Magnus Hellberg has been on a crazy tear for the Preds' farm team entering the AHL playoffs, I'm sure he's penciled in behind Rinne next year.

He's been absolutely dynamite since usurping the starting job from mainstay Jeremy Smith at about midseason. Showing signs of why Nashville took him so high. Paul Fenton said in an interview that at some point in the early season, Mitch Korn noticed a "flaw" in his game, and since working to correct it, Hellberg has been a different goaltender.

That said, I don't think they'll rush him into the NHL with the workload that Rinne typically takes on. They'll give him at least another year in Milwaukee playing a heavy amount of games.

Added a handful of contract details per capgeek.

Also, per the Penguins, they have signed Anton Zlobin to his ELC. Zlobin, after a season with Val-d'Or of the QMJHL, joined Wilkes-Barre of the AHL.

Capgeek has added more salary details for various prospects, I'll update the first post again in a bit.

Also, they announced that New Jersey has signed Seth Helgeson to a 2-year ELC. Helgeson, 22, was a 4th round pick, 114th overall, of the Devils in 2009.
