I think I'd like to see some more offensive balance in the top 3 lines. Either move Roy and Higgins to the third with Roy as center or put Schroeder in between Hansen and Raymond on the third which looked like a good line earlier on. Weise Lapierre Kassian is a pretty good 4th line. And Ebbett should be the spare, IMO.

Hit, check, defend, and he was great during our run.

I say move kesler to wing, and have higgins-roy-kesler. This way we can have Roy dishing it to both wings.

Corrado's skating is going to really surprise many. Its smooth and effective.

His defensive awareness is comparable to Tanev.

And he has a bit of bieksa's edge to his game.

Really high on Corrado.
Agree completely. However in the playoffs, I would like to see Schroeder take that 3rd line center spot. We have already seen how well the line of Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen play. Would like to see more of it.

So if this works out, we can see

Sedins - Burrows/Kassian
Higgins - Roy - Kesler
Raymond/Burrows - Schroeder - Hansen
Weise/Raymond - Lappiere - Kassian
Weise/Ebbett/Sestito

Kesler's better at FO, so I'd rather see Roy at wing.

That second line better get a goal tonight.

As soon as I saw the line rushes from today, I was going to post this.

A Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen line is a 3rd line I can get behind.

It also pushes Lapierre to the 4th, where he's best suited. Kassian and Weise just need to focus on being physical. Best thing is that if need be, that 4th line could get some pressure in the offensive zone as well (like Weise - Lappy - Pinner did last game).

Don't mind the makeup of the forward lines at all. Lapierre has had a horrid season IMO, but if he can step up his game when given a bigger role like he did in the 2011 playoffs that could really pay off. Ebbet as a 4th line centre is meh....he's at least more useful then Hodgson was in 2011. I think if we have 3 lines playing really well that 4th perhaps isn't that important. I do like the fact that we have options now with wingers who can move up and down the lineup and an extra center or 2 (if you count Schroeder).

That defense however.....

Higgins is back, Corrado will make his NHL debut, and Schneider gets the start according to Twitter. Both Weise and Pinizzotto are being sat tonight - messages being sent about their play?

Lapierre on the third line is a way bigger atrocity than anything related to Ebbett. Not the way to get Raymond-Hansen going.

Lapierre has been pretty good lately. At least he throws his weight around. And his line had more pressure in the O-zone than the third did against DET.

Eh, I disagree. Like Ebbett, Lapierre is best suited to the fourth line - but when called upon, I think Lapierre handles the increased minutes better than Ebbett. Lapierre's 50.5 FO% also far outstrips Ebbett's outlandishly awful 38.8%.

Yes I agree, Lapierre is a good fourth line centre.

The message they are sending with Sestito is that they have a goon in the lineup in case the Hawks try something.

Pinnizotto comes out for Sestito.

They then have to take someone out for Higgins and Weise is the obvious choice given his terrible play the last few.

No Ebbett is a passable 13th/14th forward. If we want to go anywhere in the playoffs Ebbett should be squarely in the pressbox, and Lapierre should be where he belongs on the fourth line.

Honestly I find either barely NHL passable but Lapierre is better than Ebbett.

I can't actually think of one thing Ebbett does well.

Hopefully they're just using him as a placeholder until Schroeder can play. He would slide into that 3C spot perfectly and bump Lapierre back down too the fourth, who in turn bumps Ebbett to the press box.

Well it's what we have to work with right now, and I think it is the right call.

I'd be on board with this, though I still think it's wasting depth to play Kesler/Roy on the same line.

Sooo stoked about tonight's game. Going there for my first game of this season Here's hoping for a hard hitting, close game, where our team comes out on top!
