Understandable, but at least you guys get to draft a stud. We won't even have a 1st or 2nd rd pick this year so we'll have no consolation prize when we miss. Wish we would've hired MacTavish when we had the chance, I was rooting for Fletcher to hire him at the time, but instead we went with another rookie coach.

You legitimately asked the Oilers to beat you guys?

I'd say we'll try, but seriously, we won't.

We just got beat by Calgary's AHL team. I don't think it would be too much of a stretch for you to beat us, regardless of Backstrom's stats at home against you guys, he's not exactly looking good right now so. . . . .

Haha, Backstrom has a career's worth of wins against the Edmonton Oilers. A win against him? Not going to happen.

Regarding draft picks: I don't really give a **** about draft picks anymore. I want some ******* results.

lol @ Mynnesota, The next one Grandlund has been unimpressive, spent 198 million for 2 signings last off season, choking bad in the standings just like they did last year, their fans wishing our players injury... I hope they never make it...

So Stefan Matteau quit his QMJHL club after being benched. I wonder how much has to do with the fact he played close to 20 games in the NHL this year. Wonder if he thinks he is bigger than he really is.

Rumors he and his father(asst coach) rode the fan bus home.

You're not the only one. But it is quite surprising how the Wild are playing lately.

Is our franchise now the holder of 'longest playoff absence' in the NHL?

Yes. How did you miss this? All of the sports channels have been rubbing it our faces over the past 24, 30 odd hours.

I dont know if he quit, sounds like he got kicked off the team. The rumor is that the team didnt want him and a bad penatly (slash) was the final straw.

@SNPatrickKing
As per @MLalancette the Armada proposed flying Matteau Jr. home Saturday night, but he preferred taking the bus with fans instead.

We still got a few years before we hit Florida Panthers territory at least.

lol

Are you ****ing kidding me. What kinda garbage nonsense ******** ****ery is this? Really trying to pander to the casual America fan or something...

Especially given the team on the other end of the ice... Yzerman? Lidstrom?

Hopefully the days of the Edmonton Oilers being the biggest joke in the NHL come to an end soon.

Unfortunately, unless MacT works in miracles, I doubt we will make the post season next year.

Just when Jay Feaster was looking to be the biggest prat in the league old Six Rings has to trump him.

Do people think Gillis will be sticking around after this goalie debacle has been resolved? To put a team in a position where the owner has to choose between trading away a younger cheaper player or buying out a contract for a massive amount, well that has to at least put your seat on the burner, doesn't it?

I honestly thought he might be in trouble after dealing Hodgson for Kassian.

Odd things happening in the East...

Ottawa's loss to Pittsburgh and Winnipeg's win against Buffalo...

Ottawa's in danger of losing their spot in the playoffs to the upstart Manitoba team. Not only that, gigantic put up or shut up game tomorrow against the Capitals. Win and the Caps are in. Winnipeg wins it, and it might literally be everyone but Alberta in Canada having something to cheer for.

Oh wait, draft lottery.
