you know, i just thought of something, i think grabo should try the wing, watching him this year playing center is a true struggle, he hasnt even been consistently good in the dot this season, and his point production ? or lack there of is truly troubling.

jvr-bozak-phil
lupul-dream-kuli

that stays as is. that leaves us with frattin, mac A, mclem, black hole, goon 1, goon 2, komarov and hamilton.

we know that hamilton has offensive upside, and he kinda looks a bit slow out there right now, so he probably isnt in the plans. i think a frattin Jmac grabo line is worth a try (anything warrants a chance at this point) then make a 4th line of orr/hamilton/komarov, or try switching frattin and komarov or something. Maybe if he gets on the wing he will play more of the Stop/go style of play, RC says all the time that grabo is playing like poop because he never starts with the puck (cant win draws) so Jmac will help the line start with the puck more often, and if he plays more of an infront of the net/tip in role it might be better for right now IMO

MacArthur maybe, but I would impress upon Grabo that the playoffs are a fresh start, and he can still make a big impact on the Leafs success.

Grabo on wing is a better idea then depleting all value from him and bag of pucking him away

Who replaces them? They've both been underwhelming this season (to say the least for Grabo) but there's no one to plug in that would do a better job.

Frattin has done just as much "nothing" as MacA. MacA had a good stretch just as frattin did.

I watched the game at a restaurant without volume Saturday night and when I went home and watched the highlights again on NHL.com I couldn't believe it. The commentator states that Grabovski made a bad decision and got pinched against causing the puck to squirt to the Ottawa player who scored. He doesn't even mention Lupul in that play or that Grabovski was given the puck with two Ottawa players on him. It's ridiculous.

I challenge anyone to watch that play on NHL.com (in fact I encourage it) and see it the same way as the commentator. In fact, it seems to happen a lot to certain players on the Leafs.

As a Grabovski fan it makes me wonder if people criticize him because of things they've seen him do or because of things the commentators talk about. Especially after reading posts about his 'terrible giveaway' last night.

Bench them so you can play Hamilton/Orr/McLaren? Yeah because these guys are going to help the Leafs win playoff games.

Yup, it's time to put Frattin back in and let him his groove.

We have seen glimpses of what he is capable of and he needs to find consistency, only way is to start playing.

He seems to go in clutch modes in playoffs, remember he played really well with the Marlies during their playoffrun.

Grabo has been trash since getting his pay day last year. If you watched the team last year you would notice this. I'm especially surprised and wonder if he even cares about making the playoffs. Hopefully now that they clinched he will step his game up. MacA has been bad this season and last season, he'll be gone this year finally. Both of them shouldn't be benched though as you never know who will step up in the playoffs.

Despite of thinking the Leafs are weak upfront and we should have more scoring depth instead of a top 4 d, I have always thought Nois should have traded Mac (maybe can get a 2nd/3rd round pick and or prospects). I was disappointed at him doing nothing much and not willing to take risks. Our prospects cupboard in forwards and goalies are weak.

Now in a better case scenario we might see Mac to walk away for nothing; the worser case scenario is Nois to offer Mac a contract extension.

Gone are the days of selling players for prospects. Contenders simply don't do it.

Gotta love how 1 half-season is enough for most Leafs fans to want one of our most consistent centers the past 4 yeas to be bought out. You're to short-sighted to even allow the player to redeem himself. Granted, if Carlyle keeps running him into the ground and plays him with 4th liner's then I'd rather we trade him so he can succeed elsewhere.

A lot of posters here are going to be eating crow once Garbo starts showing people what he can do in the playoffs. Well that is if Carlyle actually gives him the minutes to play anyway.

I would be willing to start the playoffs with Mcclement, Komarov, and Frattin or Hamilton. All are not huge scorers with the exception of Frattin but are plus players for us at the moment. means they play well 5 on 5.

Grabo can center the 4th line with Macarthur and Orr if Mclaren is not back from his injury.

5.5 for a guy playimg 3rd line minutes does not make sence. That being said it is all about how they perform in the playoffs. Ask me in June about how I feel about anybody in the lineup

Two of the easiest decisions Leafs will ever make.
I wouldn't mind David Clarkson, but who is he replacing? He plays on the right wing and I don't he be as physical off-wing. It's best to maximize his physical presence.

Say he replaces Kulemin.

JVR - Bozak - Kessel ( Top line)
Lupul - Kadri - Clarkson ( Shut down)
McClaren - McClement - Kulemin ( Checking/ specialist line)
Frattin - Colborne - Orr (Sheltered scoring line)

We'd be dangerous up front. Also, I believe that MacArthur will be signed unless we're using Orr. His skating has improved and I expect his play to improve. Besides, I don't think Biggs, Carter, or D'Amigo are ready yet.

[Added later]

Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing both McLaren and Orr play regularly. I'm sure both will be training quite hard during the off-season.

I would have no problem with Carlye icing a fourth line of Grabo, MacArthur, and Frattin in the playoffs. We'll call it "The Dog House Line".

I think that's a line that could inflict some damage, and would easily be the most skilled fourth line in the league.

MacArthur was terrible against Ottawa. Lost the puck 3 or 4 times without any pressure, can't make a pass, always a step behind and seems unfocused.

He's been good this year but I really think Nonis should have grabbed draft picks for him at the deadline. Frattin could easily replace his production. The depth on the wings was there.

Grabovski is still inconsistent but I think he's been all right the last few games. Obviously not up to his usual self but he's been using that speed a bit more. Just needs to distribute the puck far better. He holds on to it too long.

With McClement now becoming the #3, Grabo is completely irrelevant.

Grabo and Komisarek are destined for amnesty buyouts. A combined cap savings of 10 million.

^ I think as long as Grabovski is able to retrieve the puck and essentially dump it into the opposition zone, he's fine. There really isn't a need for additional scoring, but someone who can keep the puck in the opposition zone ( even by himself) is quite handy. We're going to see him being quite handy in the playoffs.

I think Mac had 15 points in his first 22 games and was +10. Both him and Frattin have disappeared. If either of them could get back their earlier spark this would be a tough team to play. Maybe now they are "in" the players who are skating hurt can be sat down to heal.

I would give Grabo last more chance... Playoffs is like havign a new season... If he ***** in the bed, buy him in the offseason... Both Frattin/MacA are struggling, maybe try Colborne on wing for a game or two...
