Who cares if we face the Leafs, yes our Record in the season hasn't been good but the playoffs is a whole different season. They have no playoff experience as a team, they haven't made it since 1733 or something.

i feel like the leafs will be feeling a ton a pressure, being the first roster to crack the playoffs in like a decade. many young fans have never seen a PO game by their team. expectations will be sky high even if unrealistic. the habs are more like 'wtv, let's see where we can go and really open a window up in the next 2 years". from last to the playoffs actually gets us more slack. we should be pleased no matter what happens.

Just got to play to your strengths I guess. Bruins fan in peace!

I so hope we do play them. Going to be such an insane series, and I think we will kill them to be quite honest.

If the Habs get average goaltending, they win the series.

Toronto is the epitome of a lucky team. They're getting outshot and outplayed badly and Reimer is bailing them out. (This was the the case vs Montreal too, but Habs goaltending let them down).

Ottawa had 50 shots on the Leafs and the Leafs won. Eventually Reimer will come back to earth.

The Habs have been outplaying their opposition since the beginning of the season and outshooting their opponents, Price just limited his crappy goals to a manageable level earlier this season. And the crappy goals came when the Habs were leading the games.

Now the crappy goals are come really early into the game where the Habs are forced play catchup.

Sure the defense has been bad due to injuries, but the style of play varies when you're trailing and your confidence level is nowhere it should be when you're leading and playing a free wheeling, agressive forchecking style. Playing in the offensive zone majority of the game masks alot of the defensive deficiencies.

The core problem is poor goaltending at the end of the day..

A lil' overreacting? Deja vu.

I think the Leafs are the most winnable of the possible opponents. If Price plays his normal game I think it can be won and if he doesn't then put Budaj in. If Montreal face NYI, Ottawa or NYR its not as easy even if the goaltending is ok.

The last regular season game will tell us if they have a chance to beat them in the Playoffs.

Not at all. I don't expect to see many of the veteran players for either teams. I also don't expect to see Price (unless he sucks next two games) or Reimer.

I don't think so.
Even if the game means home-ice advantage.. don't think either team will give it their all with the playoffs so close.. So I dont think we can judge if we can take him or not, but the last game.

I don't think the outcome will have much impact on the series but I do think some messages will be sent. Expect Leafs to goon it up.

I honestly think NYI are going to overtake 5th and Boston is going to struggle a bit down the stretch and finish 4th.

Could see MTL vs. NYR or NYI depending on how Boston finishes.

Habs got swept by the Bruins relatively recently and Montreal didn't blow up.

Ya but the Bruins aren't the Laughs. Losing to the Laughs is embarrassing, kind of like getting beat-up by Ronald Mcdonald or by a girl when you were younger..

We hate the Bruins, but we Laugh at the Laughs.

Only 2 ways MTL loses to TOR. 1) Reimer steals the show; 2) They get intimidated.

Option 1 seems reasonable with how he's playing but the pressure and change of game play in the playoffs will be tough for him and I don't see him stealing a series.
Option 2 better not happen in the playoffs or Therrien will have hell to pay.

Alright, I'm calling it now: since we clinched, Therrien has us playing rope-a-dope. We're going to blow out whoever we play in the first round.

I've been saying this since day one of the possibility. Do not want to play Toronto because we stand nothing to gain from it. We lose, they mock us until the end of our days (and trust me, that's going to hurt). We win, big deal, we were supposed to based on the quality of play this season (up until recently).

Agree.
It's simple, they beat us a certain way and have this plan that presumably figures out the habs and dominates them. Habs just need to adjust by playing with speed and confidence. They have to show them early on that we can win puck chases and battles. If we do, Leafs will have a hard to deviating from their game plan, and this where I'm hoping the momentum shifts to our favor.

They are a young team that lacks experience and this is the biggest reason we win. Young teams don't handle adversity and adjustments in the PO as well as experienced. And it's not like we're old and slow.

People then say ''but the Leafs are quick too''. Yes they have talented skaters up front, but on the whole, if we manage to avoid being intimated, we'll quickly realize that the Habs have the skating advantage ESPECIALLY on D. And once the Leafs realize that they're going to have to skate with us to win, watch-out for their confidence to plummet. And once that does, guys like Plek, DD, Max and Ryder are going to feed off it.

Habs didn't make them skate on those blow out losses with the exception of that 1 win. There is NO REASON why the Habs can't be the team that's 1st on the puck and generally a step ahead.

If DD finds his space and confidence, we'll win the series convincingly.
