-Dov Grumet-Morris (Florida) has signed with San Antonio for next season (Technically he has extended the AHL part of his two-way contract)

-Robert Mayer has signed with a Swiss club a few weeks ago

-In other news, former NHL goaltender Fredrik Norrena has retired.

Per this very hard-to-read translation, Thomas Pock has signed with Klagenfurter of Austria for next season. Pock, who is currently playing for Lake Erie while on an NHL deal with Colorado, will be an UFA this summer.

http://translate.google.ca/translate...ed=0CDYQ7gEwAA

Also, rumors have Caps RFA-to-be Mattias Sjogren likely to sign with Linkopings of Sweden for next season.

Weird that he came back to North America only to play a full season in the minors

By the way, looking at what is going with the AHL trade deadline, it seems hatt Mathieu Tousignant (Dallas), Brett Sonne (St.Louis) and Stefan Schneider (Vancouver) aren't part of their team's plan anymore and they likely won't be retain this summer.

not NHL but in my opinion worth posting

Per-Johan Axelsson has announced his retirement after playing the last four seasons in Frolunda, he played 797 NHL games all with the Bruins recording 103 goals and 184 assists

Danny Taylor will turn 27 on April 28 and when his contract expires at the end of the season he'll be an UFA.

And yes, CAPGEEK just made the change today.

They said that they will wait on Leland Irving even though he turned 25 years old yesterday (in the age range for Group 6 UFA) because in theory he could play 15 games with Calgary this season for a total of 28 in his NHL career. They said that they will change him to UFA when Calgary is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs.

Changed that, thanks.

BTW, moved Jeff Halpern to the appropriate team (Still had him with NYR).

Washington re-signs Ryan Stoa

Quote:
The Washington Capitals have re-signed center Ryan Stoa to a one-year contract, vice president and general manager George McPhee announced today. Stoa will earn $550,000 at the NHL level in 2013-14.
Quote:
Stoa, 26, has collected 19 points (11 goals, eight assists) and 43 penalty minutes in 43 games played with Hershey (AHL) this season. He ranks fifth among Hershey forwards in penalty minutes and tied for eighth among forwards in goals.

The Bloomington, Minnesota, native was originally drafted by Colorado in the second round (34th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

Stoa was scheduled to become a RFA this summer.

Added Drew LeBlanc and Eric Hartzell to the list of upcoming RFAs.

Also, moved Justin Azevedo to the list of players signing overseas. Per capgeek, Azevedo, playing in Finland while an RFA with NHL rights belonging to Los Angeles, has signed with Lev Praha of the KHL.

Per a very diffcult-to-read translation, Juraj Mikus, an RFA who is still property of Toronto, has re-signed with Lev Praha of the KHL for another season.

Also moved a bunch of UFAs and RFAs to the list of players under contract for Europe next season.

UFAs
Petteri Wirtanen resigned with Donbass Donetsk of the KHL
Liam Reddox signed an extension with Vaxjo of the Elitserien
Linus Klasen is under contract for another year with Lulea of the Elitserien
Roman Wick is under contract for another year with ZSC of NLA
Shaun Heshka resigned for another year with Assat of SM-liiga
Johan Harju has another year with Brynas of the Elitserien
Martins Karsums is under contract for another year with Dinamo Riga of the KHL
Brett Festerling is under contract for another year with Nurnberg of the DEL
Daniel Larsson is under contract for another year with AIK of the Elitserien
Dennis Endas is under contract for another year with Mannheim of the DEL

RFAs
Dennis Persson is under contract for another year with Brynas of the Elitserien
Jonas Holos signed a contract with Lokomotiv Yaroslavl of the KHL
Cody Almond is under contract for another year with Geneve-Servette of the NLA
Maxim Noreau signed an extension with Ambri-Piotta of the NLA
Rhett Rakshahni signed a contract with Vaxjo of the Elitserien
Atte Engren is under contract for another season with TPS of the SM-liiga

Now, I know some of these guys might have out clauses if teams sign them to NHL deals, but if that happens (And it doesn't happen all THAT often), I'll move them back to their respective UFA or RFA list.

I think at this point Mikus and the organization have kind of written it off as Mikus won't come back unless he plays in the NHL. Similar to Marcel Mueller.
Which is kind of a shame, I liked them both. If they both happen to come back in a couple of year, ala Leo Komarov, after maturing and getting experience overseas, I'd be willing to give them a shot.

CAPGEEK changed Leland Irving to UFA (Group VI) because the Flames were mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. Irving has 13 NHL games and needed 28 to be a RFA.

Per his agent, Mark Gandler, Karri Ramo is planning to play in the NHL next season with Calgary.

Quote:
affairs manager Mark Gandler has told the Russians that Rm interests are in the NHL.
Quote:
Ramo is making a contract with the Calgary Flames. Hopefully, this will get the seal in the near future, says Gandler

Ben Maxwell due to his contract is now a ufa.Played 47 career NHL games needed to play 82 in a 5 year career.

Was mentioned in the telegram newspaper by the IceCaps beat writer.
