"He's strong, probably the strongest guy I've fought in two years," said Binghamton Senators enforcer Brian McGrattan after the two engaged in a memorable bout at Copps Coliseum early in the season.

Good article and I wonder if Kings management is looking at him for the enforcer role on the Kings. I still like Parros though.

Ivanans started the season with the habs last year, looked great while having a few fights, but got completely crushed by Chara in one fight, and got injured for a long time. He did not make the big club afterwards. I hope he'll fit better with you, fortunately, he won't have to face Chara often in the Western conference.

Yeah, but didn't he lose that fight to a dirty punch that he didn't see or wasn't ready for. Wasn't he being held by the ref? Either way, he looks big and mean, so will take him.

They both got in a couple of punches, fell on each other, and then Chara cheap shotted him while the ref was blocking him and holding him down, hitting him in the face and breaking in orbital bone. There was no "complete crushing" involved what so ever. As for your other point he did infact make in back to the big club later in the season, although only for a few games before being sent back down. Since he was out so long the club had gotten used to another lineup by the time he was back, not that his 2 1/2 minutes a game really affected anything in the first place.

I for one though would like to see him take on Avery at training camp, just for sh*ts and giggles.

Thats a old article, but anyway thanks for the link.
I am really happy that Raitis signed with Kings, but I doubt he will play with the big club. Parros is the main guy around.

There have to be some nice fights between Ivanans and Parros in training camp.

That's what I'm hoping for. As much as I like George, Raitis should crush him.

They fought 3 times. Two times in AHL (dont know about the result) and they had a great fight last pre-season. That fight was a draw.

I had only read about the one and all the articles said Ivanans was the winner of that one.

The good thing about Ivanans is that he can skate, so he isn't a liability. Guess that has been managments problem with past Kings tough guys, making it frustrating for fans like myself. We have been seeing guys like John Tripp or Jeff Cowan instead of Ryan Flinn or Kip Brennan. Now with Parros and Ivanans skating ability, we there is no excuse.
