My summary: Anaheim blocks a lot of shots.

Not sure why Tier 1 fans go to the games anymore.

Left with 5.5 minutes left for the first time ever, and the train was packed.

Felt halfway thru the 2nd period that I could leave and wouldn't miss anything.

I think the Oilers would be in the running for a lottery pick in that league as well.

Absolutely the 1st round pick should be on the table top 5 or not. This team is beyond repair without an instant injection of heart size and grit. That 1st pick along with a Gagner or Hemsky could land us a Weber type D-Man.
Another young kid is not going to help us, at best he'll be 3 years until he amounts to much. Do you think we can wait 2 or 3 years before we turn things around?

The time is now to surround the young guns with some give a damn players who want to win. Smitty, Jones, Hemmer et al need to go one way or another. Windows of opportunity are small in this game just ask the Canucks. Even if they load up this summer it will be 2 years before they become any sort of threat. Delaying that in order to draft another talent could push things too far.

MacT will name himself as coach and trade Gagner.

I know it'll never happen, but I would love to see this team come onto the ice to an empty house. And I mean nobody in the seats.

Time to piss off the rest of the NHL fanbase by winning the lottery again. Or do they just feel sorry for us now?
No. They still hate us. Some on the main board were even calling for relocation or contraction over the weekend.

The Ducks "A Game" sure looked a hell of a lot like a team that got a 2 goal lead and coasted the rest of the way because they knew they could sleep walk through the rest of the game and not face any actual adversity.

Krueger is just... unreal.

No effort, no nothing. I know you're supposed to stick with your team lows and highs, but man. The Oilers are freakin pushing it. Probably the lowest point as an Oilers fan.

I asked myself that question out loud and a chill ran up my spine, before my mind was filled with apocalyptic visions. Once the seizure subsided I came to the conclusion that some questions are better left unasked.

I think I'd be bored watching that game even as a Ducks fan.

Okay... so what did Sam Gagner really say after the game? I read that he said that the effort was there but Tencer just tweeted that he was absolutely livid after the hockey game.

Package the first rounder up with one of the assets you mention above and get me a few guys who already know how to play NHL hockey.

Add some actual NHL players to our bottom 6, a better 2C, and a couple of NHL defensemen and we are a much better team. I'm not interested in dealing our 1st round pick unless it returns an impact player like Weber and we can also address at least the 2C issue via a separate move.

As much as I'd like to be fair to Krueger I really think next years team needs an NHL coach with plenty of experience like Ruff. Krueger might be ok in the AHL or something like that but he's clearly not ready to coach at this level. We need a coach that can get the team to believe in themselves and start earning respect around the league. THis is going to be one deep hole to climb out of.

Ya, I listened to the clip Tencer tweeted and he didn't sound that mad at all. Frustrated but not that angry.

I was really hoping he would flip ****. Throw down a couple F-bombs, maybe sucker punch Tencer.

Can anyone explain exactly what system the Oilers are using and why exactly it's not working?

I couldn't sell my tickets anywhere so I showed up for 2 periods...big mistake.

That first period was worse than the the first home game of the season. At least San Jose was trying when they made us look stupid.
