Here is another BNL offseason. (aka. offseason IV; the reckoning)

Sam Gagner could be a nice sub in for Stephen Weiss...and may fit in well with Florida's ****** albeit up tempo system. I also like the idea of sending French players and players that are not at all French but may sound French to a team that is destined for Quebec City.

Anyways.

Corban Knight
Drew Shore

Sam Gagner
Eric Belanger
Curtis Hamilton

I'd be pleased with any of Nichushkin, Barkov, Nurse, or Zadorov.

My ideal alternative for big bold macT: Note this is without getting too ridiculous.

Buyout: Horcoff & Smyth
Hemsky (1.5m retained) for John Mitchell and a 2nd
Sign Bickell, Stalberg
Draft Monahan
Trade Gagner + NSchultz for Yandle
Bury Belanger

With RNH back:

Hall - RNH - Eberle
Stalberg - Mona - Yak
Bickell - Mitch - Jones (not sure for 3rd line RW, just picked Jones)
MPS - Lander - Harti <- Not sure about 4th line or know of solid 4th liners, I was thinking of Magnus for Goc but not to sure tbh
Brown

Yandle - Petry
Smid - J Schultz
Klefbom - Potter (I use Potter because he actually seems ok to me tbh and have him another year)

Fistric

A recently drafted rookie as our 2nd line c is a terrible idea

Nichushkin is an interesting one, he would certainly fill more than a few needs, especially if the Oilers could convert him back to center.

Is Mac T really in Russia? Tencer mentioned during his call in show but I couldn't tell if he was joking. Perhaps taking a look at this kid among other KHL talent?

Dunno if its been posted yet here. Lindholm has all the tools from the looks of it,RH centreman, reminds me of a grittier Backstrom. Him and Kelfbom coming over next year ??
Interesting tidbit.

4th best PPG draft eligible year in SEL history.
.84 - D. Sedin (50gp)
.74 - P. Forsberg (23gp)
.69 - H. Sedin (49gp)
.63 - E. Lindholm (48gp)

Kid looks gritty and he protects the puck very well while also possessing a lot of skill. I really don't want to move this years 1st rounder, lots of players that would fit in very well here.

We finally get to see...........????

To me....we finally get to see the true "Genius" at work..........Stu McGregor will not have "The" number 1 pick overall.......now he has to decide "Who" to select.

Unless we get lucky and win the lottery.......but that was Tambellini's thing....the only "thing" that he was good at.......!

Sign Mark Streit. Try to pry one of Marc Staal or Ryan Mcdonough out of the Rangers. Then our D looks good. Fill the bottom 6 with capable NHL players. Stalberg would be good here.

Wouldn't be the worse thing in the world. Kid is 2nd on the ISS list so if he falls to you at 8th(although we could be 4th with how we are playing) you really need a good read on this kid. Is he a kid that is willing to come over to the NHL anytime soon? He is playing with Kuznetsov who hasn't come over yet, so who knows what Evgeny tells Valeri.

Either way I hope it's true. I think we need to do more scouting of europe. There are lots of older players that could come over as UFA's and make a more immediate impact that need to be looked at as well.

The u18s are going on in Sochi right now.

A bunch of draft eligible kids there.

He didn't have to decide that before? IMO RNH was the only lock for 1st overall. Right now I'm happy with his choice of Hall over Seguin. So far I like Yas over Murray, and if Gallchenyuk becomes better, you cant blame Stu for not taking that risk.

Yes... trade proven players for more prospects and unproven guys. That's exactly what this team needs.

Given we're currently sitting on the 6th overall pick, I'm really gunning for Lindholm. Best candidate out there for us after the big 4 IMO. I wouldn't be surprised to see Carolina surpass us either, which would give us a top 5 pick.

Nashville is playing the Flames tonight. The Flames have called up 7 AHL players and all will be in the game. The Flames are doing everything they can to lose this game.

Nashville is at home so they really can`t throw it, they have to at least show up so I expect them to win. Thay would leave them tied with us but with fewer regulation wins. One more point and they could pass us.

4th is not out of the question for us

Calgary is playing their best hockey with all the AHL kids called up. The kids are playing for their jobs so they are bringing intensity every night.

I would not be surprised if Calgary takes this game.

The guys on the sportsnet panel during intermissions of the Oilers broadcasts are clowns. Last night, I can't remember which one said it but he mentioned that he would trade one of the Oilers 1st overall picks this summer...

I honestly can not think of a package that would be worth trading Hall, RNH or Yakupov right now..

A lot of media people talk about trading Yakupov but Yak is on pace for 46pts and 20goals in a 82 game season playing third line minutes as a rookie and usually with guys like Horcoff and Jones.

Yak is not getting the same opportunities as Hall and RNH had in their first years and he is still succeeding. He also plays with that raw emotion that everyone is saying the Oilers need in their forwards.

More nights than not Yak has one of the best work ethics on the ice, he never stops trying.

Trading him now would be a giant mistake..

Assuming Florida is awarded the 1st overall, do you think there is anything the Oilers can add to their 1st round pick to get the 1st overall?

Lets assume Oilers are drafting 4-5th overall.

I would try to centre the deal around Gagner and our 1st. But I think Florida would need more.

I still would not be surprised if our pick this year becomes what Braydon Schenn was to the Kings. A solid prospect that needs some time to develop and ends up being traded in a package for someone with more experience.

I sooner see FLA trading down with COL. We have the pieces to get a deal done, but I doubt it would be worth it.

COL though needs Jones and could toss something at FLA to not take Jones.

If Florida does end up with 1st overall, maybe it makes Gudbranson easier to get, that's that route I would go.

I want one of the three centres after the big three
Barkov
Lindholm
Monahan
All three play a solid 200 foot game and add some grit and toughness.

I think the Oilers need Jones just as bad as Colorado does...The Oilers biggest need right now is a #1 dman... Hmmm what is Jones projected to be again?

How is Gudbranson doing this year? Looking at his stats he is a ghost when it comes to offence and is really getting lit up in the +/- department (most likely a product of the team sucking).

Is Gudbranson projected to be a top 2 shutdown guy? If not I would rather target a top 2 dman
