NJ vs PHI

Who will come back the better team in a full season next year? Will LL be active in free agency and sign some depth or will Holmgren continue his aggressive approaches to amplify his team?

Problem is FA is pretty bare this year.

Devils need a top 6 winger/player and get rid of a defenseman.. Flyers need help defensively (health too) and have to figure out what to do in goal with Bryzgalov.

I think the Devils holes are easier to fill but the Flyers have a better chance to improve their team with this FA class.

The Flyers. I think the Devils are on the way down and in for a few lean seasons.

I hope PHI comes back better than the Devils, of course, but Lou is a wizard. Until he misses the playoffs two years in a row, I still believe in him.

Devils. Lou's track record is so good.

Flyers are younger and more talented, easy answer.

New Jersey's roster just doesn't impress me at all aside from Kovy and Larsson. With a lack of offense, an average defense, and aging goalies, I don't see NJ making the playoffs next season.

Philly on the other hand have insane depth on forward, below average defense, and questionable goaltending. I personally think Bryz will bounce back next season, and that combined with their potent offense will make up for their subpar backend.

This is easily Philly IMO.

Both should rebound nicely and make the playoffs again.

Most likely just a bump on the road for both teams, just like the Canadiens last year.

Flyers

Devils have a few UFA they need to deal with and Brodeur isn't getting younger. Parise leaving really hurt the Devils
