If it was (and history has shown, Swedes are't afraid of doing that), it bit them in the ass big time.

Not a pretty game of hockey right there. Other than the Fin goaltender, nobody really stood out.

I take that as a compliment, but you are overestimating this team. There's no Lindholm or Forsberg this year. The 95 guys aren't strong enough. Canada was better in every facet.

Strongly disagree, Bob. Think the third period several Finnish players distinguished themselves winning one-on-one battles and being defensively aware - pretty much all over the ice.

Even though much of the play was in the Finnish end they pretty much dictated where the puck would end up - and the Americans more times than not either lost 50/50 battles or were content to go pretty much where the Finnish team angled them.

In fairness, I didn't see the first two periods so maybe the USA was better then - as the stats seem to indicate. But in the third period there were few real opportunities or second chances gained by the American forwards.

Yes, Saros was good. But there wasn't a lot of traffic or cleverness to make his life all that difficult.

Think what happened 3 months ago in Ufa. The only wins and losses that matter are in the medal round.
