Kimmo Timonen (and injury talk)

March 11, 2014:

Quote:
Flyers defenseman Kimmo Timonen is undecided about whether this will be the final season of his stellar 15-year NHL career.
But he admitted if the Flyers overcame the odds and won the Stanley Cup, it would be “the perfect way to leave the game.”

His decision “comes to the summertime for me,” he said after Tuesday’s morning skate at the Wells Fargo Center, where the Flyers were preparing to face the New Jersey Devils. “I want to see how we do in the last 18 games. I want to feel the playoff atmosphere. That’s a goal where I want to be, and hopefully we get there with this team. Because once you get in the playoffs, you don’t know what’s going to happen. You have as good as chance as anybody once you get in.”

Any idea how long he's had the fracture?

We won't even need to try to lose out for the rest of the season!

If L Schenn didn't wear a visor every one of the Flyers' top 6 defenseman would have suffered a bad injury this season.

takes quite a bit to get Timonen out of the lineup.

Imagine if we were going into game 46 of an 82 game season.

He's probably had this for a while, but there's no point playing him on that foot anymore. What was it, like 3 weeks ago that he took that shot off the foot?

Timonen foot fracture. Earthquakes in China and Iran.

Coincidence?

If that doesn't lead to going 0-3 these final 3 games, I don't know what will!

Well it matters to us going 0-3!

But really I was merely pointing out the comical nature of our defense.

Lilja plays with a pool cue on golf spikes? Bryzgalov in street-hockey gear and playing wrong-hand trapper? The forwards all agree to a minimum of four offensive-zone passes before a shot on net?

What am I saying on the last one? I think that's been an unofficial rule all season!

Wouldn't surprise me if he played trough it for a long time. Kimmo is a serious warrior.

I think they should make it team policy that all players must shotgun a beer between shifts. It's not like they could make the tank any more obvious anyways.

Isn't Gervais still hurt? I thought that was why they brought up Lilja.
