He has to be signed.

There's no way management is dumb enough to think seeing the Oilers play would actually make someone want to sign with them.

Any chance that is Huddy? Just reading about how raw this kid is and all the other young up and comers, I wonder if he'd be a great addition. Or is that stepping on toes of Smith?
Who cares. When Huddy was here Lowe looked like a genius unearthing quality D-men. Watching the years post MacT/Huddy, I'm thinking Huddy was a good coach. How have the Dmen in our system improved under the watch of Steve Smith. I haven't really seen it.

Please bring back Huddy! We used to be able to churn out serviceable defencemen from thin air. Smith is passable, but I don't care if he's getting his toes stepped on. We need Huddy to salvage the wreckage of this defensive core.

That sounded dramatic. But still...

I'd love Huddy back, but I believe he's currently an assistant in Winnipeg.

As someone alluded to earlier, signing college free agents carries almost no risk, and the pay off is eventually finding a diamond in the rough.

Kenny Morrison? What this team needs is Kenny Powers.

I don't even think it's that dramatic. Huddy always got the best out of whatever D Lowe threw at him. Smith just hasn't.

Letting Huddy go was a bad mistake, if we could fix that, I'd be all over it.

I thought they would have announced the signing by now

Maybe he hasn't signed yet

This thread might be a false alarm

Probably just pointing out some of the guys he could get to play with.

Like Horcoff, Jones, Potter and Belanger

Here's an article from December on him.
http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.s...enney_mor.html

He is raw on the defensive side of the game.

Agreed, I don't see why Huddy would want to give up a current job to come to the Oil.

I heard Perry Pearn's name mentioned. He's had ample amount of experience and would certainly be a veteran hand with some very green coaches on the Oilers.

Too small, he'll become the 2nd smallest oiler damn. Typical .

Serious note, Log jam on the blue line in OKC next year. Do we see some moves?

Marincin, Klefbom, Davidson, Musil, Fedun, Gernat, Bigos, Morrison, Deck(?) + two to three more experenced defenceman (eg: Teubert, Stafford, Jones)

Well Stockton will be seeing a nice influx of talent on the blueline next year.

..but why? OKC will be raw next year with Gernat, Marincin, Musil, Davidson and possibly Klefbom. Lots of rookies so is this guy really an improvement?

If he signs can he stay in college next year? Could see them signing him and leaving him down there for a year to get more experience.

He'll lose his NCAA eligibility if he signs.
