Last year I would have been pleased to make it to the 2nd round, but this year I won't be satisfied unless we make AT LEAST the Conference Finals (3rd round).

I think we have an EXCELLENT shot of making the 2nd round (barring any crazy injuries)....

I really can't see this team NOT making it to the second round, at least. Last season, Nashville started the playoffs with a back-up goalie. If Vokoun plays as well during the playoffs as he did in the regular season, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to think the Preds can win the Cup.
Someone in a Canadian NHL city just started crying when I typed that last sentence, and he doesn't know why.

we used a backup goalie last year and we were too small.

both of these issues have been fixed. so we are aiming for at least the 2nd round this year

Chris Mason wasn't the problem during last season's playoffs. The rest of the team just played badly. Lots of giveaways and not enough shots on net. They played better the year before against Detroit. I was satisfied with that series. I wasn't satisfied last season.

Anyhoo...

Missing your starting goalie will make you play more cautious though, especially if one of your leading scorers at forward and defense are out too.

Injuries weren't are only problem but they had a lot to do with the way we played.
