^awesome pick dude. He could easily end up being among the best defenders in this entire draft.

With the 10th pick in the NHL draft, the New Jersey Devils are proud to select, from Val'Dor (QMJHL), Anthony Mantha! A great two way winger, Mantha has a good offensive upside and is no slouch defensively and we love that about him.

I'd like to thank Mr (Ms?). Velociraptor for doing a great job setting this thing up

The Phoenix Coyotes are proud to select, with the 11th overall pick of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, from the Medicine Hat Tigers of the Western Hockey League, left wing Hunter Shinkaruk

"Hunter's got great vision, great hands, an NHL-ready shot, and an explosive first step. He's the first line pure-offense talent we've been missing for awhile now. His shiftiness on ice resembles Patrick Kane, and his shot is reminiscent of Phil Kessel's. We think he can carry the load on offense for us for a long time."

Phoenix Coyotes' 2013 NHL Entry Draft
1st round, 11th overall: LW Hunter Shinkaruk (Medicine Hat, WHL)

Next GM PM'd

Great fit for the Yotes as he is similar to Boedker IMO.

I think his offensive upside is a bit better than Boedker's, but that's with the benefit of hindsight

Phoenix is set up for the next decade with a great stable of young top-end defensive prospects. With Shinkaruk, I think they go a long way in addressing their scoring woes up front. Shinkaruk has legitimate 35 goal potential, and he's one of my favourite players in the draft. I've actually had that post written up all day just hoping he'd fall to me

I wouldn't say he fell, but he's probably a top 3 skater in the draft. Pure offense; I've seen him a bunch this year.

Mr, I can assure you

Nice pick as well, Shinkaruk is a nice fit in Phoenix.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd take him as early as 8th.

I wouldn't have minded taking Shinkaruk or Wennberg in all honesty, I just like Mantha a little bit better, 80+ points as a rookie is pretty damn impressive so I think he has the points to back up his offensive upside lol.

Maybe I'm just a huge fan of his but like I said, I've got Lindholm ranked 2nd overall. He's following a very similar career path as Nicklas Backstrom but I think he's a better skater.

I just didn't expect them to draft a center (:

^i'll tell you this....if the Oilers are picking at #6 where they are at the moment (though that could change with the hardcore tanking going on right now ), and Lindholm is still there, the Oil will take him no probs! from everything i have heard and read, the Oil will take a center first, and a d-man second....if they don't trade the pick that is.

Oh I wouldn't doubt EDM, Tampa has a lot of C depth though.

They do, but he can just as easily play RW for Stamkos. Or if the team buys out Lecavalier he'd be a 2nd line center real soon.

Yeah, that's probably the best reason to make that kind of pick if the Canes do end up at #3 in real life. He's a legitimate star potential player so it's outright stupidity to pass up on him when he's the only one of the big 3 on the board. But that said, of all the likely top 5 pick possibilities for the Canes, he and MacKinnon are probably the worst two fits, with Drouin being the slightly worse one. Jones is obvious, Mac would give the Canes stupid center depth, Barkov gives the Canes a legit physical specimen that can play in the top 6, Nurse gives a big solid defensive presence on the blueline. Drouin just simply adds depth in something the Canes have plenty of already, but would at least make it justifiable to move Tlusty out for some help on the blueline.
