Bobby Orr Statue

A quick question(s) to the LF.

There's debate going on about the Wayne Gretzky statue that is currently at Rexall Place where the oilers play and where he played. There is talk to move it/him to the new building when it gets built.

But I wonder about the Bobby Orr Statue? Was it ever at the Garden? is it currently at the TD Garden?

Were there any statues at the garden that got moved?

IMO, the wayne gretzky statue should be wherever the oilers play.

Thanks.

The Bobby Orr statue is new. It wasn't around before the new cookie cutter.

It's only been around since Spring 2010

It was dedicated right before game 4 of the Philly series, IIRC. Once it went in, they didn't win another game that year.

It was made up for when he waved the flag for Game #4 of the stanley cup finals and the boys won 4-0.

Now they just need to reface the Garden so it doesn't look like my cinder block fire pit. If I was Bobby Orr's statue I would be embarrassed to be leaping for eternity in front of that monstrosity. But I digress and go completley off topic

God that is so true. Especially with the Zakim being nearby, they should throw some money at sprucing up the statue area :coughJACOBScough:

Bobby should get more than a statue. Ted Williams has a tunnel named after him in Boston. How about renaming Causeway Street to Bobby Orr Pass (like Flutie Pass in Natick)? Causeway Street is not a causeway so it should be renamed anyway.

This. No longer a Causeway along that route. Orr Way or Orr Causeway would be appropriate.
