The only time the Chicago Blackhawks won a Stanley Cup was with Patrick Sharp playing center.

With Bolland and Frolik as offensive "black holes", maybe they would be better served on the Chicago Blackhawks checking line.

The best scenario in my opinion is for Bolland to have a good playoff and hence he will still fetch something in a trade. His prone to injury and back problems that may or may not be present make him expendable after this season. The ugly side of the business of hockey.

cough cough... the heat I took back in the day when I said that we have seen the best of Dave Bolland.

But let's ignore all of that because your a what have you done for me today kind of guy, Bolland has had a terrible year cut him, trade him, kill him. Who cares what he has done for his career and what he has already proven to be I don't like him.
Bolland was not that good last year in playoffs

He had 3 points, Kane and Toews had 4, Sharp and Keith had 1. He was fine.

At least the team rid itself of Brunette, Lepisto, Morrison, O'Donnell, Scott.

after the playoffs (with the exception of scott).

i still cringe thinking of the amount of time brunette got. and morrison was frequently scratched - but when he wasn't, he was useless.

Speaking of useless, Jamal Mayers comes to mind.

So why are we giving Bolland a pass for a mediocre playoffs last year when that is supposed to be his bread and butter time?

Yes having 1 less point then Kane and Toews and more points then Sharp and Hossa while playing on the checking line, what a horrible playoffs.

What did Bolland take your mom out for a nice seafood dinner and never call her again? It's clear you have something personal against him and not anything hockey related.

No he isn't, our 3rd line C while playing his shutdown role well and only having 1 less point then our top players is beyond mediocre.

Bolland is so bad the team didn't even want him to play in 2011 playoffs and had to because of injures, if he doesn't play the Hawks would have won game 7, DUH!

Not really. All you apologists say that is when he shows up. He was mediocre and I am giving him more credit than he deserved that series. Lets see what he does his playoff if he plays at all. I would LOVE for him to prove me wrong.

They were the 8th seed and lost in the first round in 2011. I'm not sure what he did to make anything better for the season overall. He was great 3 games of the Vancouver series and 2 of the PHX series.

He was on the ice for 3ppg against in the PHX series too and had a mediocre to poor game 3, 4, and 6. If somebody wants to compare his pt total it should be noted who scored more goals than him too. The team was bad in the PHX series, Bolland was less-bad than most of the team. Shutting down a line against a below average offensive team is nothing exceptional. They needed goals, and Bolland, like the rest of the top 9, couldn't score them well.

If he does great in the playoffs or does poorly, I don't think that should be the reason to keep him or move him.

Hearing Bolland's groin injury worse than #Blackhawks letting on. Doubtful for playoff opener.

The guy has pretty bad luck when it comes to injury. Bolland is a guy you want to have in the playoffs to go up against opposing teams' top lines. Because who else is going to do it?

If Handzus continues to play well enough to be sound defensively and win draws things won't be much worse than they were all season. Sharp is back and his two-way play makes the second line a lot better even though he can't finish for **** anymore.

Hmm, I donno. I feel like a Handzus/Kane/Sharp line would spend a lot of time in their own zone against Parise's line.

bolland's line spent half the season hemmed in our zone. just look at his corsi. handzus looked better at 2c the past couple games than bolland did all year
