It's wrong on so many levels.. it needs to be taken out back and shot. Not only is it exposing the top half of the net, his skate is on the inside of the net, so instead of planting into the ice and using his leg strength to propel him laterally if need be, he has to rely on the net, which does not transfer enough power. Also, since both of his legs are folded like that, it takes a split second longer to get back up into the ready stance, which is all you need to be behind on a cross-ice play or a quick shot.

Terrible strategy and Groulx needs to scrap it asap or he won't be coaching for much longer.
If Price listens to his coach that intently then I wish the rest of the players listened to the coaching staff like that.

But MB didn't give it to him. The fact remains he had 1 season in the NHL and a few in the AHL and none under MB. If he wants to see Subban up close to make sure they want to sign him long term why wouldn't he want to for DD?

I like MB and I'm not trying to bash him, I just wish he would have waited till the off season to make these signings but it was a risk he thought was worth it since he maybe figured the way the season was going their value would only go up.

Who knows, but its backfired IMO

At this point, I'd go full rebuild.

Only untouchables would be Subban and Galchenyuk.

Yes, I wouldnt mind trading Price, Eller, Gallagher, etc if the offer was right.

I still believe!
it hurt the draft position. if this team doesnt get bigger over the summer how is this better than drafting top 5? i find it hard to imagine that this team over a 82 game season wouldnt be a 6-8 seed even with this start.

Once again.. the final game of the season before the play-offs will feature both teams resting most of their line-up.

It will NOT matter AT ALL.

Well, the key question is - where would this team finish if it was an 82 game season?

The way they are playing, probably 7th-8th. Maybe even out of the playoffs.

So not sure we'd be calling it a huge success.

It would have been better we miss the playoffs then getting out in the first round and drafting 25th. I would be a disaster for a matter of fact.

Folks if this is the Markov we are seeing in the playoffs ... Just trade him to the Stars, Hawks or Caps!
DD and Markov to the Hawks for Halmerson and a 2nd in 2013 at the daft!

More positives in this one than in the last games but... Where's the urgency to end this loosing streak... Aren't they worried at all ?

Let's just hope the start of the playoffs will fuel back the desire to win in this team... Winning streak appearing just by itself, just like the loosing one did... New start for everybody, and games that have matter in their road to the Cup, not like the two other left this week...

Now that would be just plain stupid, we are only a couple of pieces away from being contenders. We need a better defense plain and simple.

K, let's not get carried away with rebuilding.

We just suck right now. It's how you play. Our team is fine on paper, it's crap on the ice.

They desperately need size on the back end. I'm willing to wait another year up front with Gionta expiring and replacing him with someone physical and bigger, but the back end needs work asap.

It's definitely something they developed over the Summer. I've never seen him do it in the past. I don't think they are going to change it now because there's not a lot of time left to really re-invent that portion of his game. However, going into next season, they need to adapt a more traditional V-H position when the puck gets behind the goal-line because this strategy is atrocious.

funny how no one complained while they were winning even though we all knew they were too small. Now that they are struggling, its excuse time....

You can't be serious. Honestly, How would we get better? The issue with this team is a lack of physical Dmen and the absence of muscle in the bottom6. Our Skill and Goaltending is fine, but when you're missing what we're missing it all seems to be bad. That's what's so frustrating. There's little holes in the team that causes big problems. We're close to being a contender but we're a couple pieces away.

It's a bit sad when you're happy to see the team not get blown out. But, hey... they didn't get blown out!

I'm just going to ignore the wins/losses until the playoffs and just hope that they re-learn how to play with intensity and some physicality.

Sorry guys that was pathetic...
Subban fallen off dramatically in the last 3-4 games.
Markov dealing the puck nowhere.
Some flashes of spirit but not much.
Seems to me when we were playing well Prust wasn't a 4th liner.
Wake up MT.... .
DD needs to sit.
Put all the grit you can into the line up we need it...
Chucky should have had a chance at his natural position by now.
Certainly wouldn't be a downgrade.

lol.. secondary assist. He won the faceoff that lead to the goal. Just keep hating though, it's amusing.

In terms of TOI, he was 3rd for centers tonight. But of course, all we see is hate on Desharnais like he's supposed to be Crosby. Nothing said about Plekanec missing 100 chances and being responsible for a goal against or Eller either, even though he did score a goal.
