For what its worth, the Penguins did not get to where they are today because of stockpiling picks. On their roster today, their draft picks are Crosby-2005 1st, Letang-2005 3rd, Malkin-2004 1st, Bennet-2010 1st, Kennedy-2004 4th, Orpik-2000 1st, Despres-2009 1st, Jeffrey-2007 6th, Vitale-2005 7th, Fleury-2003 1st and Bortuzzo-2007 3rd.

Not a 2nd rounder on the roster.

The players who are the driving success of the Pens were acquired from other teams......Kunitz, Dupuis, Neal, Martin, Cooke, Sutter, Niskanen and of course Iginla, Morrow, Jokinen and Murray.

The Canadiens need to emulate the Pens.
It will take giving up prospects and picks to get to the level of the Pens.

Edmonton went nowhere with the top pick of "Fail for Nail" Yakupov. Because they love their picks and will not trade for veterans to fill needs........just like Bergevin appears to be doing.
no problem, where's our Crosby ? where's our Malkin ?

Rangers lose 3-2 in Florida when they had a chance to clinch.

Preds take a 3-2 lead in the 3rd.

Now 4-2. Just no OT please! With CAR winning, we can afford a NSH win.

Boston looks worst than the Habs, losing 5-2 against the Flyers and their AHL defense.

Why do they always say Luke Schenn, instead of just Schenn?

watching erik cole **** people up would look good in a habs jersey.

not one person has done that since he's left, the habs have gone soft. nope, don't think it was emelin, I stick to cole. this TEAM played better with cole on it, regardless of his stats.

Do not like the moves MB has made. He better impress in the off season.

and another, what is wrong with educational tv these days.

Yeah, that's how we got Galchenyuk right?

Ryder is somewhat one dimensional but he's also kept the offense going for a long part of the season. Cole was effectively a waste of space until a few weeks ago.

We could use a player like Cole, but this is the typical grass is greener mindset that plagues this board. When Cole was a Hab people complained he didn't hit enough too.

If the Habs ever trade Desharnais he will get compared to Henri Richard the next day.

maybe some didn't, but most times I gave cole the benefit of the doubt. I also didn't like the ryder trade, and continued to say how much ice cole was opening up for his line mates.

yes, this year, he helped make the team better. last year, this wasn't a team ready to play, they just sucked and had 1 line and 30 injuries.

they looked more dominate with him here before the trade, and it allowed pleks to be the 2nd line. it was a huge difference.

that said, it is what it is. I've just been following dallas the last 10 games or so, and he makes a huge difference out there. he does things nobody on our team does.

For the last 10 games, yes. Go back a few weeks and Dallas fans were questioning if he wants to retire, like we were before that.

Right now we miss a player like Cole, and if we can get another guy who crashes the net and also has a bit of skill like Cole does, perfect. But it's easy to say we miss a top 6 forward when our entire top 6 is slumping at once. If Pacioretty and Desharnais need Cole to produce, it's time those two are split up.

Now that Ryder and Pleks are back together (at least I hope they are), look for scoring from that line. They are magical together and we will once again forget Cole.

Eller has to get Chuckie going and vice versa. Score goals in spite of Bourque being on their line.

Please Montreal give us the 2 points next game to keep our playoff hopes alive. We were screwed by the Refs and the NHL with the disallowed goal. This is the 3rd one in the past 10 games.

Based upon our last 7 or 8 games, a Winnipeg win is free for the taking.

I want you guys to make the playoffs but don't bet on us winning another game this year.

I don't think you have to do much begging with the mess that is the Habs right now.

Lehtonen completely standing on his head in SJ.

The Jets will probably have a 3-0 lead before the 1st period ends.

Jordan Staal 10-20-30 -18 20:00

Wonder if Pierre would still trade our 1st pick for him?
