Official three stars per NHL.com:
  1. Mason
  2. Luke Schenn
  3. Voracek

Randy Miller, who had the designation to pick the stars, went with:
Quote:
1-City of Boston; 2-Boston 1st Responders; 3-Boston Police

Frustrating when this team plays like this for nothing, at this point in the season.

I guess pride counts as something, but still.

Actually, I think Edwards has been pretty good this year and last year. I think the Bruins winning the Cup in 2011 toned him down a lot.

Schenn was a horse, and I do not want to beat a dead horse but Briere has to go. He really was a non-factor again.

Thanks for stopping by to post. It was a nice display of what really matters beyond the ice surface. If only the Bruins could have reciprocated with more goals than the Flyers.

That is the initial final count: $85,595.

Plusses:

1): Mason is boss. I'm onboard, he looks fantastic. There's a goalie regeneration pool somewhere between Philly and Columbus.
2): Jake and G are money, looking forward to a full 82 of them together.
3): That defense won an NHL game against Boston. I cannot believe that just happened.

Minuses:

1): I wish we'd stop winning. It's for nothing. We're hurting our future by winning these games.
2): Briere is 100% totally committed to the tank, he hurts every shift he's out there for.
3): We're getting ever-closer to a very long summer.

A +3, 4 blocks and 8 hits. A Luke Schenn Hat Trick.

The chosen GDT song "46 + 2" served a dual purpose.

How are things, Pete?

Hey hey. Celebrating a win here!

.... against a very tired Bruins team-- but nevertheless.

Not to break up the huggy-huggy with Bruins fans, but I have to post this:

You lost to a team missing Timonen, Pronger, Coburn, Grossmann, Meszaros, Timonen, Huskins, Timonen, Bourdon, Gervais, and Timonen on defense, and who actively and intentionally made Lilja go out on the ice surface while play was going on.

I'll be right with you Beef. The brass like Nurse but picking at 8-9-10 I am thinking Lindholm. The kid has Frosberg all over him and he can play wing. There is no way they can screw this pick up....just to much talent in this draft.

Are we really hurting our future? Is the difference between the 8th or 10th pick that big? We'll get a good player, stop worrying about that. I'd rather see this team show that they have hearts, seeing that we aren't a bad team, etc. than picking 2-3 spots higher. This team isn't in a rebuild mode, it's a very good team that has played below it's level for some reasons. With a good move or 2, we'll contend very soon.

I just got home from the game. Man does Mason look very good in net for us. Athletic as hell in there. Makes some saves I didn't think he would. He was in position to make them more than not tonight too. It is a little early, but he is only 24, and he might have needed this. Change of scenery can work wonders for a young player like him, and he is thriving right now in a small sample size.

Voracek is a god damn beast. He can control the play when he has a great night. He has learned so much from Jagr to protect the puck and use his body to get a shot off. He still needs to work on shooting more, but he will learn. We have a very promising duo on the top line there for the coming 5-7 years.

Luke Schenn. Man is he a boss. The guy just plays the game the right way. Yes, sometimes he does go for the big hit and get out of position, but more times than not he makes the right play. Another young player, where a change of scenery was needed. He is quickly becoming a fan favorite here.

Now Couturier was a little disappointing. I would like him to be a little more creative. He seems reluctant to make the fancy play and just dump it in deep. He needs to carry the puck a little more and try to make some moves. He is on the top of his young game when he is confident with the puck on his stick. He still seems to lack that.

All in all a good game to go to. I know we all want the better pick, but you have to respect a team with that defense for the effort they are putting forth. They came to play. On a bad note, Jagr wasn't really noticeable. He was knocked off the puck quite a bit too. I hope it was just a bad game, but nature is catching up with that guy. He is 41 now, so he might be losing some of that hall of fame game we all grew so use to seeing.

Jack Edwards usually gives the Flyers a lot of praise when doing Boston/Philly games.

If you guys apologize for messing up our tank, we'll apologize for hurting your standings.

I generally despise his monologues, but I do remember him being nothing but professional and complimentary (to boot) to the Flyers during the historic comeback.

Want able to watch the game. How did Gus look? I see he led the team in time on ice by 2 minutes.

Still not sure why Edwards is so polite to the Flyers. Same with Tripp Tracey. They spend more time talking about the Flyers then their own teams half the time.

Anyone else see the continued progress that Gustafsson is making? Not saying he will be an all star defender or even a top 4 defender, but like Bill Mc said I think he put himself in a great position as one of the 6 defenders next year. Lavy keeps throwing stuff at him and he keeps showing he can do it. And this has been consistent since his last call up

Earlier in the year Edwards made it clear he considers the 09-10 Flyers to be the model for the Cup winning Bruins as a never-say-die, hardworking team. That might be why.

Tripp Tracy was drafted by the Flyers.

Andy Brickley, the analyst, played for the Flyers and is usually complimentary especially in memories of his past coming up through the organization. Also, having two high profile members of management with Massachusetts ties in Laviolette and Luukko -- can be an endearing and attractive quality in terms of relationships more so because of the importance of tonight's charitable contributions.
