Not exactly great.
They were much stronger on the road last season. That is the biggest concern that I have. Just don't have the energy this season at the start of road games.

Where'd you hear/see he was upset?
O'Neil and Evans were right outside the locker room during the intermission and post game and said they could clearly hear him letting the team have it.

This kind of loss happens when you decide not to play for the 1st 40 minutes. Great effort in the 3rd, just needed more. Not too worried, but its kind of disturbing. I expected more.

Did the kings really have that great of an effort in the third? I saw it as more of Minnesota sitting on their lead. Playing a trap style.

The kings really didn't have a scoring chance until 12 seconds left. I'm trying to remember another scoring chance.

The Wild played like a team whose playoff lives were on the line and Kings played like the defending champs who've already clenched and didnt seem to care. Still lost by a margin of inches.

Voynov has a cannon for a slapper but the softest wrist shot in the world.

You can say the Kings need to play like their playoff lives are on the line but lets face it, that's not happening. These guys went 10-1 on the road in the playoffs. I imagine they could give a crap about home ice and there is no way they are going to match MINs intensity. Whatever. On to tomorrow where I fully expect the Kings to lay an egg playing their 3rd in 4. **** this schedule.

This game reminded me of the game fours in the playoffs. Kings just can't match the desperation of the other team on the brink of elimination. Hockey is still an emotional game and you can't fake it.

Wild wreaked of desperation in the first, Kings looked and played on cruise control. The high stick disallowed goal seemed like they were just "showing off." Even the Cater goal looked like they didn't care about it.
I actually felt sick watching These Kings play.

Not overly concerned or intimidated by a single loss before the playoffs. We were ready to jump after those two games in San Jose where we coughed up the division to Phoenix.

I fully believe that locker room wanted the Nucks in round one.

With the inconsistent play the Kings have shown lately it's hard to see them getting past the first round of playoffs. That would be very disappointing if that happens... GKG!!!

Its obvious Carter doesn't want the Jackets to make the playoffs.

It's just odd the team is having effort issues.

Those didn't seem to crop up at all last year, they just couldn't score last year.

Effort was always there.

Lol, I hope he gets a hat trick tomorrow just so I can see the reactions of the CBJ fans.

Well, at least Sutter yelled at them. Will do my best to forget about this game and hope they come out stronger tomorrow.

It's not just the Kings having a hard time getting up for a game post-clinch. The 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th & 15th place teams in the East all beat playoff teams tonight.

I just checked myself. Wow even Nashville beat Calgary for kickers.

Sutter isn't worried about the hit. Helene thinks he will get a game or 2. Roenick thinks there will be a suspension.

Besides the lack of effort, I'm seeing a dangerous trend of the inability to get out of our zone cleanly. Teams are pinching down the boards hard, but we stay along the boards no matter what! Let's break out towards the middle every now and then and maybe leak a forward once or twice to keep the opponents forechecking and D honest. Too predictable!

Roenick is a buffoon. He thought that the Flyers' Harry Zolnierczyk wouldn't get suspended for his hit. Of course he ends up with a four-game suspension. I wouldn't pay any mind to what that fool JR has to say.
