Regarding benefits of missing the playoffs at the end of the last thread, I doubt now that either Gulutzan or Nieuwy will be gone if they miss out. Maybe if they lose the last three.

What's everyone's opinion on Daley? To be honest If we could get a decent return, I wouldn't be against trading him. At the same time, It wouldn't bother me to have him for another season.

I think Daley had a pretty rough year and Id be willing to trade him mostly to open up another spot on D since i think its highly unlikely Robidas gets moved.

Just realized Columbus can't catch us in ROW... Not enough games left.

They don't have to. Loser points and head to head will have them in.

I thought Daley took a step forward last year but I think this year he went right back to where he was.

At his age, he is what he is. I always wish he would be more physical but his game isn't changing.

I'm fairly neutral on moving or keeping Daley.

I'm blown away it wasn't while living in Texas or another part of the south, I thought they knew better in Canada.

I've decided to lay everything at the feet of the owner now. He's been here for a year and has had a chance to take stock of the situation and where it looks like things are headed. I'm tired of hoping for losing in order to prove to him that we need a change from management down. I know some people disagree and think Nieuwendyk is good, etc., that's fine. Regardless of personal feelings on the subject, it's up to ownership to take the wheel and make the decisions that will determine this team/organization's path for the next five year.

Yes, it was really taught in my school. I remember thinking what bs it was, but a few of my classmates bought into it. It's not really a bad thing to think positive thoughts, but the way they depict it in the movie is like a cult....very creepy.

I'd be ok with that if we, say, packaged him up to move up in the draft.

I'd hope that if they were planning on canning Gulutzan as of a few weeks ago, that they'd be able to stand back and still look at the big picture and not change their minds just because of a hot streak at the end of the season.

I'm going to steal information from Wingsfan2965 that made me feel a little better.
Obviously, Dallas needs to win both of their final games.
Columbus can get 1 point in their other remaining game and still be behind Dallas.
Detroit can even win one of their 2 getting 2/4 points before their final meeting with the Stars and with a Stars win that night, the Stars are playoffs.

I think they have a much better chance than 9%.
Complicated, but not far fetched; very much do-able.

Really? I guess I won't put any stock into any numerical model I ever do in my career

It can't estimate the unpredictability but I'm sure their "educated guesses" are more than throwing a dart at a board.

Even if it comes down to Saturday and needing a win to get it...we all know what's going to happen.

eh do you really think theres only a 9 percent chance dallas beats two mediocre teams at home to finish out the season and nashville and the kings help them out?

.6(dallas win) x .6(dallas win) x .5(la win) x .4(nsh win) = 7.2%

And that's probably being generous on every single one of those teams chances to win each game.
