Very good. That goal really hurt our franchise, we still had a chance to lose until that one.

Good grief, this gang of losers can't even tank correctly.

They could be dueling for the 4th pick right now, but for a few of these stupid, meaningless wins.

They are going to end up picking 12th the way these morons are playing. Suck all year, try when it's too late. Give your collective heads a shake idiots.

On the upside, Luke is a beast, Gus was great, and Lauridsen might have an NHL future after all. Mason looked good again too.

The two most detrimental figures in the declining success of the philadelphia flyers.

I honestly expect us to be picking outside the top 10. Makes me so angry that the team waits until it doesn't matter to actually play sound system hockey.

Frankly, given what I have seen over the last couple of weeks with these injuries, I think the number of safe defensemen probably doesn't exceed 2. I could easily see Grossmann or Coburn in a package for a pick upgrade or a PMD. Yes, both are quality assets, but running out Schenn + Coburn + Grossmann is an untenable situation from a breakout perspective.

Yeah, but we also went from best case scenario picking 6 to best case scenario holding onto the 8. Worst case scenario gets upgraded from like 10 to 12 as well.

The point is that the team is only playing the way that it should have all along when they're only hurting the franchise in doing so. It's ridiculous that this effort wasn't there 2 months ago. Hell, I even saw Briere backchecking tonight.

mind boggling how they couldn't get this kind of 5 on 5 play for most of the season. granted I think they have faced some **** goaltending the last 2 games as well.
Not really surprising you are getting the effort. Mason is playing like he wants to be the #1. A lot of the kids on the back end are playing for jobs as well.
This was Boston's 3rd game in 4 nights so they definitely caught a break if you want to call it that as well.

I know this is a tank thread but why is everyone so mad? **** it at this point, the first pick was the only one worth it anyway, might as well win out the season and finish over .500 (for the first and last time this season ) Flyers tanked in 07 and didn't get the first pick. Also no, I'd rather them keep starting Mason to just keep seeing how he does.

This is what gets me, too. Yes, there are factors that you mentioned, but, holy smoke, where was this effort when games mattered?

I hope Mason starts the last 2 games and the Flyers lose 1-0 both games while being heavily outshot.

Any chance we could call up old man Boucher to fortify the tank for what should be his last games in O&B?

The tank does need some help. Right now it appears to be stuck in the mud...

This was by far the least successful tank job I've ever seen. You just know that whatever team winds up in the 8th spot we would have been in had we lost today is going to win the draft lottery.
