Guess we'll have to be careful then. Still like the Breaking Bad idea.

There is nothing wrong with using Breaking Bad. Although the show is largely about drug trade, there is plenty of "awesomeness" that comes out of that show that could work for our avatars and still adhere to site rules.

Yeah, basically we'll be focusing on the more theatric elements of the show. Even still, there's plenty to work with.

I knew that there were restrictions on references to drugs, I just thought I'd take a shot at trying to make it fit within the rules.

My mistake.

Backes with a boat anchor hanging off his C.

Sobotka carrying a howdah on his back filled with the rest of the team in miniature.

Or just a picture of Chris Porter in action.

Saw Army of Darkness on last night.....

If someone could photoshop Tarasenko's face onto Bruce Campbell and make the shotgun a hockey stick with a caption of.

"This.... Is my BOOMSTICK"

I will be forever grateful.

Made playoffs! Let's get cracking.

Idea:

We've all seen Django Unchained, yes? Anyone like the idea of a Djbo Unchained theme?

Basically the first frame is a quote from the film as applicable to the Blues, followed by something like this:

[donotuseorpostelsewhere]

[/donotuseorpostelsewhere]

It's rough around the edges (text jumps around and the explosive smoke can be done better). Not to mention the file size is probably way too big. But what do you all think of the idea?

I love this, but it seems many have lobbied hard for a Breaking Bad theme.

I'll help with a Breaking Bad theme if we get some sort of schema down. I can't think of a link between BB and the Blues.

The Djbo unchained idea is funny and creative, but Breaking Blues clearly (should) wins the day.

For some reason ppl think St. Louis is in the middle of no where and we are all red necks. How about a duck dynasty one, love that show.

Yes! love this idea...might change my avatar with a quote from DD. Here's a link for a lot of the show's quotes if there is any interest.

Meh, not like there isn't some grain of truth to that.

We should set up a poll and see what everyone wants to do, im kind of indifferent between the breaking bad and duck dynasty, also like the djbo unchained.

I honestly don't watch much TV other than sports, so I've never seen BB or DD. I've planned on seeing Django Unchained for a while though. Plus it would be much easier for those who have not seen any of those, to catch up on a two hour movie, than to try to catch up on a show that's in it's 5th or whatever season... Plus the JBO unchained is about as perfect as a title that you could have for these playoffs.

Are the early seasons of Breaking Bad out on netflix or anything? I might do a trial just to check it out and at least get an understanding of some characters if that's what we go with. Although, as sad as it may be, I just don't think I have the time to invest in that many episodes of a TV show, haha.

BB is on Netflix. I've never watched it myself but apparently it's really good.

This is what I have been passing the time at work with. Doesn't really have any meaning. I just thought it looked funny

I am in favor of a poll, we need to get this sorted out pretty soon, lol. So who are all the contenders now?

Breaking Bad
Duck Dynasty
Army of Darkness
Django Unchained

Can't recall if there are others...

Looks like it says "Hen Hitchcock" instead of Ken. But I love the idea.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhhh, that's the font they use for Alfred Hitchcock Presents. I tried changing it, but it looked out of place with the other letters. Good thing I'm not getting paid for this

You could use a brush or eraser to deepen the grove on the "K"s.

Sometimes an outside idea is the only way to overcome a dilemma. I know that is the case for me from time to time.

There are plenty of good ideas, but my argument for Breaking Bad was premised on the timing – this year is the final season and it's an historically good show. Plus there's no way we dodge another year of someone else not taking it, whereas the others will keep longer. Hitchcock Presents will be just as good next year, but Breaking Bad won't. No other team's fans are going to take the duck (?) one ever so that will always be available. Django feels stale after a Tarantino one last year. That's just me though.

The avatar would be simple. I can't do it, but it would be simple for someone else who knows how. You take the standard simple Breaking Bad intro logo with the box around the Br and the B, and you make it "Breaking Blues." Just watch this and you'll see:

That is avatar #1. Avatar #2-5 would be four different groupings of players with their names highlighted with different periodic table elements. Four groups of six different names = four different avatars for people to choose as options. I went through and managed to come up with 23 + Hitchcock non-repeating ones, they're listed earlier in the thread. These avatars would be very simple, but totally classic.

Example of Avatar #2: [Picture of David Backes] Text: "Starring David Backes," [Picture of Chris Stewart] Text: "Chris SteWart" ... it just rotates through six guys. If that's too long an avatar, then six groups of four names.

It doesn't have to be super complicated to be a great concept. You watch the reaction if we do this. People will be far more jealous of this one than the duck (?) thingy and/or an above average movie.

Django Unchained was ok, by the way, but it wasn't one of Tarantino's top three films by any means.

Yes, Breaking Bad is on Netflix streaming. The first season took place during the writer's strike and is shortened so you can knock out 7 episodes right quick if you need to catch up.

By the way, 2MM, how far in are you?

Just received Disk 1 of Season 2. Will probably watch one tonight.

I'm not a fan of streaming since I don't get the same quality as Blu-Ray, and miss on extra features on the disks.

So far I'm enjoying it...and alarmed at how much of the scenery is easily recognizable to me.
