The best goalie in Nova Scotia is the 5'6 goalie on Cape Breton but his size will prevent him from getting drafted...the best goalie IMO for all around size and skill is Rowan O'Brien from Cole Harbor IMO he is a 3rd to 4th rounder with good ability.
Can you give me your thoughts on Mcinnis from Saint John, small but excellent skater, good vision and high IQ. Needs to work on his Defensive game but I guess that would be like everyone changing from forward to D in 1 year. Put up nearly 20 points in the NB PEI hockey league this year. Could this guy go in the later rounds this year?
Thx

You must be from Quebec, Deschene , Thompson , Paul , Meyers, are very good D and are possible draft picks and they are all close to 6' tall that fits your needs

I have seen him, Michael Joseph, plays for the Moncton Hawks Bantam AAA. He is skilled but very small. Maybe 5' 2" or so. If he grows he will be a good one.

He's a '96 born but I completely forgot about Bradley Power (Newfoundland).

He's playing with the Bay State Breakers right now (they play out of Rockland, south of Boston)

there are a few to speak of and some of the best in he draft....Luc Deschenes top 5 pick possibly.....Will Thompson who I think is better than a lot of the quebec defenders as well, Thompson right now could be better than Deschenes but Luc's hype will cause him to go high....Paul probably a 3rd rounder, very smooth skater....Myer a good size steady dman who is smooth...............

Deschenes - super skilled, seems to lack desire and passion but skill wise he is top 5 in the draft, when he does decide to play he makes amazing plays, he is smaller side too at 5'10.

Thompson - Very skilled skater, excellent puck rusher, great passer, controls the play, can pinch and be the 4th forward, can play decent defense, has a good shot, he is always involved in the play, has good hockey sense.

Scoutman1, what are your thoughts on D-man Fitzgerald from Cape Breton Tradesmen?

I'm still cranky he wasn't picked by someone last year. Some of the hits he throws hurt from the stands, he's just so solid even though he's not overly big (I think he's just under 6' still right?)

No way he gets passed this year

You are using Deschenes height from Canada Games at 13 years old. He is at least 6 feet and the Monctonian had him at 5' 11.5.

i get the real heights and weights not the ones from the site or given program because teams up some players by 2.5 inches sometimes but usually by 1.5 inches....luc is 5'10.....you do not even need the real height and weight you can tell by watching him on the ice he is on the smaller side.

Not to get into a pissing contest about 2 inches , but I guarantee you ( for a fact ) that Deschenes is over 5 '11 . I know this for a fact because I have stood next to him several times throughout the winter , I am a little over 5 '10 and he is taller than me.

Although, regarding '98 born players, consensus was that the best players at the Quebec Games in late winter were Saguenay's D Samuel Girard (15 points in tournament) whose skating, vision and offensive acumen are said to be second to none amongst defencemen his age in Qc (though he only stands at 5'7" for now) and Pierre Sevigny's son Mathieu. Were do these two rank in your 98 list?
Mathieu Sevigny was not the best forward at the Quebec games. There was a forward on the Lac St. Louis team better than him and had like 17 points in the 5 - 6 games played.

Girard is pretty small for a defenceman and would be suited to play as a forward. If he is a late bloomer -than the NCAA is best for him. You do not see too many 5'7" defenceman even in the Quebec league.

lol, 5'9 for a 13-14 year old is plenty big. He'll grow. Jeez some people expect these kids to hit 6'2 200lbs out of the womb. EDIT: oops, nvm you were referring to Fabian's height. My mistake, carry on.

Yes, Fabian's son, Michael is about 5' tall. He is a very skilled player, had a good first year of Bantam, I don't know if he was the leading scorer for his team the Moncton Hawks, but he was probably in the top five.

I hear there are a few really good 99's out there in NB that have tremendous skills. Thinking of other guys like Ben Reid, Peyton Hoyt, Michael Cyr, Bryson Woodsworth.

On the 98's, Liam Frigault, Brock McEwan, Roch Theriault, Sam King, Dominic Tardiff to name a few.

1st week of May

It's usually the 1st but I remember one year it was released later but still had a May 1st date on it

Some pre-draft showcase tourneys. There is one in Boston and another in Montreal. There may be others out there.
