Do we really want to use Habs legends when we are probably getting swept in the first round?

Best case scenario would be that Yep already has 8-10 Legends to propose, and members submit a pic of the player they want in the avatar with a short tagline.

"#11 2Legit 2Quit" might be hard to fit under a picture of Gallagher. Remember, the pic needs to be good enough that we can recognize the player at a size of 90 X 90 approx, plus the text has to be big enough to be read on a 125 X 125 panel, so keep your catchphrases/taglines/punchlines/jokes short 'n sweet. (Anything Smurfs or Hobbit-related should do just fine )
I was thinking doing of "legends" to cover different cup winning teams from different era + Saku for the unfortunate younger crowd who have yet to witness a Montreal championship.

Biggest problem I have right now is the Font we used : "Porn Fashion". It doesn't have numbers, punctation marks or special characters. I'll try to find a replacement tonight.

Can anyone tell me why can't I vote? Is it something like I need to reach a certain post number or?

As I've said before, and not to derail this thread, but this team has shown to be too good to go out like this. Keep the faith, ELB!

Realistically we aren't the only team this year to go through a rough spell so there's no reason to think this will last forever, but I'm in full on cynical mode today.

Guess ill wait for the list if legends in that case. I guess "honey badger" would work for gally too.
I was thinking of making legends or heroes from each era. So every generations can have something to relate to.

Starting list
  1. Maurice Richard
  2. Doug Harvey
  3. Jean Béliveau
  4. Henry Richard
  5. Ken Dryden
  6. Guy Lafleur
  7. Larry Robinson
  8. Bob Gainey
  9. Mats Naslund
  10. Chris Nilan
  11. Patrick Roy
  12. Saku Koivu

There are tons of heroes to choose from and they're not that long to make. So if you guys have good ideas, I dont mind adding others.

Does Patrick Traverse count as a legend?

On a serious note, I'm thinking of a Naslund/Pocket Rocket "can't win with smurfs" one.

The avatars would look great, but we'd have to prepare them weeks in advance.

1- will Habs clinch this early next year?

2- will it take 3 weeks for the board to make up its mind?
Aye, that would be a fantastic concept (ie: The Armstrong style of comic book shopping).

However, this would mean more work for you and the rest of the shoppers. Therefor, I won't push for it, but it -could- work next year.

Since we haven't yet decided on this year's theme, we might as well get a head start on next year's

For this year, I don't really care, I would just like to avoid anything with Family Guy in it, because I'm not a huge fan of the show. Won't kill me to sport an avatar with Peter on it for a few weeks, but I would rather avoid it.

I made a version with Janne Niinima as the legend in the other thread to show that the concept of the past feeling good about the present could work with a more cynical tone. CoolasprICE thought it was horrible though.

Right on!

I think there should be a couple of oddball choices. Niinimaa is an obvious lock, easily recognizable by just about every fanbase. Benoit Brunet, maybe? Jacques Demers?

"Feels good, Mario. À-à-à-à vous, Pierre et Benoit!"
