What time is the game on Monday?
Any way we can watch these games online?
Rest of the games are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. All games start at 18.30 local time, meaning, in my educated guess, 11:30 eastern.

HDPlayer.eu, the software you need to watch'em

He needs more seasoning in Wisconsin right now.
Marc Zanette last year had an ATO with Hamilton and returned to Niagara.

Your boy Armia is one win away from championship. Assisted on the 3OT goal.

Game 6 is going to be a tough one for Tappara, Ässät is pretty hard to beat at home.

He had an assist in the second game too.

I've only seen the first game live, the rest are on pay channels that we don't have.

Joel has worked hard for the team and been creating a whole lot of chances for his linemates. Hasn't gotten many points, but luckily they don't tell much of his game at this point. Also that backchecking has continued to be a real thing of beauty by him even though he still gets the occasional penalty because of it.

Not saying that a (game winning) goal wouldn't be nice in the sixth game though.

Ever since we drafted Armia and I started looking into (and watching) his game, one thing that stood out to me is that if he improved two things he could be a solid enough defensive player in the NHL (as opposed to a one-dimensional sniper). Those two things were his skating and the mental focus/effort on defense. He's certainly improved his skating quite a bit already and I've seen real progression in his willingness to engage physically and backcheck. He needs to further improve with consistency and playing smart (not taking bad penalties, etc), but he's getting there. I haven't seen much of the playoffs unfortunately but it looks like he's consistently playing a well-rounded game by his standards.

If he wants to make it in the NHL sooner rather than later he's going to need to bring that kind of backcheck. Lindy Ruff may not be here anymore, but any NHL coach is going to require some level of defensive responsibility. With his size and natural ability (hand-eye co-ordination, etc), he has the capacity, though he'll obviously need time to adjust to the smaller rink and learn the defensive system. My money's still on him starting out in Rochester, but I also think if that's the case he'll be one of the first call-ups if someone in the top 6 gets injured.

I think Armia might make the team out of training camp next season (depending on ;if they trade Vanek.

He will need to learn what Grigorenko needs to learn: how to compete with less time and space.

Watch Armia's GW 3OT assist in the last game (and many of his goals this season). He has so much time. The opposition does not even check him. He won't get that much time in an NHL preseason game, much less the regular season.

I don't think they have much of an NHL-future, but they are exactly the types of players Rochester needs, so I could see the Sabres giving one or both of them a chance. They'll most likely have to work their way up from the ECHL though.

Interesting on Armia. Does he come over next year regardless of Vanek's situation (either Buff or Roch) or what...

What happens with Vanek has no bearing whatsoever on Armia. His contract with Assat expires, and he's signed to an ELC with Buffalo. Guaranteed he will be playing in either Buf or Roc next year, unless Buffalo decides to do something weird like loan him elsewhere.

They may give them the Fienhage treatment -- bring them to Dev Camp and then training camp, offering them non-NHL level contracts so that they have some depth without potentially wasting slots in their 50-contract limit.

Fienhage was exactly the guy I was thinking about as well as a comparison . I just hope that they'll have a little more success than him...

Maybe. Of the two, I think Austin could turn himself into a bit of a useful enforcer if he's willing to throw the mitts more. He didn't once so far this season from what I have found. He can skate, he's got size. They don't really have anyone in the pipe who can chuck knuckles and while that is possibly dying out in the sport, there is still a spot for it.

Lepkowski may get a little bit of a look since they are still enamored of locals. That they own the Amerks could allow them to skirt the NHL-level contract totals and keep them around for some longer-term development if they so choose.

-------------------------

Changing gears for a moment, do our Finnish contributors have a handle on if the Finn WC team is holding a spot for Armia or if they've basically settled on their forward corps? I'm curious if he'll be available after the league finals and if Buffalo would be willing to bring him over, even if it is just to get used to Rochester regionally if not willingly putting him on the ice.

Assat and Tappara tied after 2 at 2-2.

Setting the stage for a Joel Armia championship winning goal.

Win or lose, this is awesome experience for Armia. Also, it's fantastic to hear he's been noticeable even in games he hasn't produced points. Hopefully his new-found commitment to back-checking sticks with him and doesn't disappear when he flies across the Atlantic

Assat just scored to take the lead 3-2. The box score is slow to update, so I have no idea who scored it
