Hall and Gagner are the 2 that I could see going. Schultz needs to call it a season though, same with Eberle.

Dubnyk should definitely go. But only if he plays. He needs all the extra work he can get. Same with Gagner.

Other than that, I'd prefer the rest of the guys just get rehabbed/recharged for next season, but wouldn't have a problem with Hall going over. Give him some more experience on international ice to give him a better shot at the next Olympic squad.

I'd say he's the best of a bad lot.

I do hope Hall gets to go, though. be fun to see him play hockey that means something.

Canada's WC team should be able to score. Sources say Stamkos, Giroux, Hall, Eberle and Staal brothers are amongst those going.

Like I said earlier in the thread, the players and Canada management know this is one of the last chances to impress before the big show in Sochi 2014. Good to see them take the tournament more seriously as a warm-up for the Olympics.

Hall Eberle and Dubnyk have all accepted invitations from Hockey Canada to go to World Championships.

Bah, a player his age doesn't need extra rest unless he's injured imo. He'll have enough time to rest when he gets older.

I don't think he'll have a choice though since I doubt that they'll call for him this year.

More than a few people have said that he has been playing with a broken finger that has caused him problems this season. Obvious that it is not as big a deal or he is healed now.

Top 2 lines of

Stamkos - E. Staal - J. Staal
Hall - Grioux - Eberle

That's crazy.

I wonder who will be on defense?

Weber
Brewer
Campbell
Giordano
Schultz
Myers (thought he was hurt)
Carle
Klein
Coburn(thought he was hurt)
Schenn

I don't care what anyone says.
I enjoy watching the Worlds, because they are like mini-Olympics with Canadian all star teams.

That would make sense. See what teams miss the playoffs and draw from the full compliment of Canadian players available. Hall, Eberle and Dubnyk were apparently automatics for Hockey Canada, other Oilers are maybes.

If they invite Ladd and Kane should Winnipeg miss the playoffs, I might even move the Staals down to a scoring/checking role and go with

Stamkos - Giroux - Kane
Hall - Gagner - Eberle
Ladd - E Staal - J Staal

look out, they should score a little.

And the 4th line maybe looks like this?

Benn - Zajac - Simmonds

This team will look ridiculous.

We could solve that if Krueger was head coach.

If he's physically up for the tournament, I say let him play.
