Tinordi does play big, but he isn't physically ready yet to do it full time at the NHL level like Emelin does or Komisarek did in his better years when he was running over Lucic.

Markov and Bouillon need to sit the last 2 games IMO. See who emerges from the replacements to step in and play 6th and maybe Bouillon can be sat as well in the playoffs.

Tinordi played well enough to stay last time here but was sent back. I thought he was a solid dependable defenseman that did not get pushed around. He is not as good as he will be but is clearly our best option from Hamilton.

Better defensively is a stretch and even if he is, it's only a slight margin...I think if the Habs invested more time in Weber's development instead of over-using Bouillon all the time, Weber might of improved defensively

They want to develop him to thrive in the NHL, not just survive. That's where playing 20+ minutes a night AHL helps.

Sure you can and it long overdue. Not as a punishment but as an acknowledgement that he need the rest just like Gorges. The compressed season did not do either any good.

Did you feel he survived last time here? I thought he was steady and reliable. He is not offensive but he is trust worthy, much less of a liability than Beaulieu.

None of the stopgap measures has made up for the absence of Emelin.

No sense in sitting Markov IMO...he's not playing well, that's pretty obvious right now

But he can be the difference maker (in a good way) on any given night, his passing especially on the PP are too crucial for the Habs

The guy who nees to sit is Bouillon...weakest link on D by far

SOmeone else put it very well...he's the Mathieu Darche of this season and of the defense

Niiiiiiiice I like it. Hopefully this helps out the PK. I know some are hesitant to put JT into the fire right now but he could play a Hal Gill kind of role. I know he isn't experienced like Gill but he can PK well and even though he hasn't filled out his reach and mobility will serve to make up for the lack of muscle.

Agreed.....I'd go a step further.

I would have called Pateryn and Tinordi to replace Boullion and Weber

Both guys excel on the PK big stay home physical d-man that block shots

Tinordi Markov
Subban Diaz
Pateryn Gorges

PK Duo's

Pateryn Tinordi
Subban Gorges

PP Duo's

Subban Markov
Subban Diaz

Playing Subban more on the PK would also be a start. JT was decent first time around in limited minutes, I think he'll be better prepared for what to expect now. I think he'll help.

Good. We need more size and new blood injected into the D.

Kaberle should be next if woes continue.

I'm not a fan of playing players on their offsides...but in theory, I agree with you.

I liked at the beginning of the year when icetime was earned based on performance, the guys early on in the season who weren't performing up par got their icetime cut. It seemd Therrien has gotten away from this in recent weeks though, it's made some players complacent.

A good call that, imho, should have been done earlier. Its ''fair'' that they gave a try to Weber but we need a strong physical presence to replace Emelin and Tinordi is the best one we have.

There's going to be a lot of pressure on the kid however. ''Hey Jarred! The team counts on you to defend teammates, hit, clear the net, block shots and be generally imposing. Oh and stop the best forwards of the opposing team. Good luck LOL''

He will be asked to play instead of Weber. Not such a huge task to fill.

Markov and Bouillon aren't at practice today (resting) so I'm assuming that one of them will sit tomorrow and Tinordi will take their spot.

....because the team drafted Tinordi with the hopes he would use his size to help the team on the blueline?

Honestly, Kaberle should have been given a chance a while ago, although a poster said MB doesnt want to play him and risk injuring him, which makes sense. Say what you will about the guy but he's been nothing but professional.

I agree, bring back Kaberle into the lineup, especially in the playoffs.

Baseless speculation. Players have therapy days all the time.

I think they would be wise to put Subban & Tinordi together...it's likely to be the Habs #1 pair for years to come. Might as well get started now

lol, I'm just saying...just because Markov and Bouillon had a day-off today doesn't mean they're going to be scratches tomorrow.

It could happen, but that's probably not an indication.
