I see where you are comming from but there isn't a team in the NHL that would take Doughty over Stamkos right now. We are also not talking about moveing from 1 to 2. We are talking about 2or 3rd down to possibly 7th.

Wow! That is pathetic!!
I hope they get screwed and don't even pick in the top ten!!

We should have iced a team with clune in net, first line of Henderson bang and mueller and scratched weber, rinne, legwand, Klein and josi.

Also,

Is hornqvist hurt? Why didn't he play??

He is hurt. Upper body injury. I think it is still the shoulder.

Shocking. Hornqvist is hurt lol. Thanks for update.

If poile trades a top five pick I will be pretty damn disappointed. There are other way to bring in pieces.

Trade Ellis, Blum, budish, Watson, hornqvist, salomaki, cehlin, ekholm, puustinen, craig smith, hellberg, hali. Poile could even move other draft picks or first next season. Heck, trade kostitsyn for a bag of pucks that can find the net easier than our regular ones lol. Then sign one of the top four free agent defenseman or offersheet pietrangelo. Done! I would love any of the above mentioned pieces if it meant having Mack, drouin or bark.

A top five pick in this draft is not worth trading at all IMO. If poile job is really truly on hotseat, he better not make bad move.
Remember how we got forsberg? McPhee job on hot seat, traded him away to us for erat and latta. Caps fans hated it. Just like we will if we move top 5 pick. There are not to many guys that would impress me we could get who would be ''available'' in trade.

If Edmonton offers Yak for #5 or something, we should take it. I agree it would take overpayment, but I'm not going to dismiss the possibility entirely.

I would still rather trade up then get yakupov.

I think mackinnon has way more potential than nail.

I would rather have mackinnon and lose someone like Blum rather than just have yakupov. Just my opinion though.

Who is going to trade down with Blum as a sweetner?

Would you trade the pick for Thomas Vanek?

I'd much rather take a risk on an 18 year old on an ELC then trading it for someone who costs double that. I would do Eriksson, E. Kane, maybe one of Edmonton's kids.

If things stay status quo and the draft goes Jones-Mac-Drouin, Barkov is still a quality player to take at 4:

I'm fine with anyone rated to go in the top ten. We probably won't draft the Russian, or a defender so any of Barkov, Mack, Drouin, Lindholm, or Monahan and I would be happy.

I would rather have barkov than vanek.
If we can't get one of big three or barkov, I would listen to offers more then.

Would you move from 2nd to 4th for the 4th, a 3rd/4th and Ryan Wilson? Jamie McBain? Keith Aulie?

While we all think moving up within the top five will cost a fortune historically it hasn't cost that much. The team trading the higher pick still gets a top 5-10 pick in addition to a high 2nd or 3rd and a roster player or meh prospect in most cases. no.2 for 4 + our 3rd, Blum wouldn't be out of place, though I would offer Ellis if it came down to it.

They get a defenseman who can play in the NHL now another pick and only move down two spaces. If they want defense at 2 and Jones is gone why not trade down to four and pick up Nurse while getting two more assets.

Scenario:

We win lottery and have first overall pick, lightning have the third pick.

Lightning suck and without stamkos they would be in rebuild mode big time.

We trade the first overall to Tampa bay for stamkos straight up. Then lightning draft mackinnon, then Florida takes jones and Tampa takes drouin. They manage to keep drouin and Mack together in NHL so they can continue to dazzle everyone like they have in Halifax.

Do you think this is possible?! Would lightning move stamkos to have Mack/drouin?? Would we rather have Mack or stamkos?? Based on age/talent/pay

Never happen. Stamkos is one of the most dynamic scorers in the NHL as a 23 year old. You don't trade that, especially for a player that MIGHT someday reach the same level.

First overall, Ryan Ellis and budish for stamkos?!

I guess maybe that's a pipe dream lol.
But having drouin and Mack together would be pretty sweet. But yeah, the more I think about it, I can't see lightning dealing stamkos.

Sorry, still don't see it. We don't want to hear about trading Weber for a bunch of parts, why would any other team take that for their superstar? The 1st overall is a great asset, no doubt, but Stamkos surpasses even the lofty expectations of your usual #1.

Is there any bad choice here? In a year or two, our first line will look like this...

Forsberg - MacKinnon - Wilson
Forsberg - Wilson - Drouin
Forsberg - Barkov - Wilson
Forsberg - Lindholm - Wilson
Monahan - Wilson - Forsberg

Plus we've got Bourque and Beck looking like they can nail down the 2nd line winger spots. That's exciting.
