Got better as the game went along. Bad first, okay second, and great third period.

Pretty much this

Kid might have some potential as a prospect ,, Hopefully he gets year with Hogs next year in Pirri's spot (With Pirri of course in Chicago)

I agree. Once the jitters were gone he played pretty well on both second and third line.

I think we may have something here

Showed some promise and good bounce back after a horrible first shift

Honestly extremely small sample but LeBlanc going straight from college to NHL and had shots on net and was significant presence in the 3rd period of his FIRST NHL HOCKEY GAME. Impressive.

LeBlanc's going to make the battle for 2nd line centre in camp next year quite interesting.

LeBlanc strong 2/3 of a game. Got rid of the butterflies after the 1st, beastmode after that. Kid will have a big camp in September.

Good point they were basically awful except for a flurry of good play in 1st period. Crawford faced 14 shots in 46 minutes.

That team is pathetic on D and 2-8 in their last 10. Ugly team.

I like this kid, after the gitters went away he showed he has a good 2 way game, battled in front of the net, had a couple of nice D plays, a few nice passes, kid even did better from the dot then Toews.

LeBlanc was given the Championship Belt tonight, so if you want to know what his teammates think of his play, there you go.

He played like **** in the first because of nerves, anyone who watched NCAA hockey knows that's not the norm. He looks great, smart and simple game with strong fundamentals complimented by his size + grit.

kid had a hell of a 3rd period, proud of the way he bouncced back after the first period. Solid second period as well. Kid was buzzing around the net all game long. God he made some sweet dishes and moves along the boards to come out with the puck. Always had his stick on the ice and got some shots on net that I never thought would make it through.

call me crazy, but damn does this kid remind me a lot of Rob Brown??? he looks the same on the ice, his build is the same, and his passing skills are damn well close...hopefully he isnt a floater like Brown was in his last few years..

Hawks could have a gem here no doubt. In his 3rd period he looked better than anything we had playing center this year outside of Toews. Thats not saying a ton but if he is surrounded with some talent, we have found our #2C boys and girls.

I liked what I saw as the night went on. When Q bumped him off the 2nd line I thought he'd be in the doghouse but LeBlanc recovered and played a strong game.

I think he's earned himself a couple more games.

I came in here to say basically what you guys have all been saying. You could tell the kid was nervous out there to start the game. Hell, his mind was probably racing big time worrying about messing up and I'd say his legs probably felt like they weighed 200 pounds each. Once he got settled in though, shift by shift he looked better and better. I think he made some real nice passes and won some battles and had some great chances of his own and could have easily debuted with a point or two. I think once this kid finds his groove and is given an opportunity he could definitely be a productive NHL player capable of filling more than one role. Liked his game tn big time he makes some nice passes and is patient with the puck

This makes zero sense. You get 3 YEARS to be drafted, how many do you need??? Who does it benefit, you ask? Well, it benefits the TEAMS who can count undrafted players and sign them immediately, and not have to waste picks on them. You think every player who enters the league should have to drafted? That's so stupid.

I was glad to see him pick up his game as it moved along. He looks promising.

As for the draft rule. Remember Belfour was a college free agent. Also, with respect to the maximum age, guys playing professionally overseas should be allowed to make their own decisions and IMO, that is who this rule protects the most. For example, a guy like Brunner should be able to decide when, if and where he wants to go to America since he already has established a career for himself overseas. If you allowed a guy like that to be drafted, he could go from a nice professional salary and a ton of playing time in Europe to peanuts in the AHL and an uncertain future.

Rough start for him. I would have preferred Pirri but at least Leblanc got a feel for the speed of the NHL game so he can work on specific things in Rockford next year.

I can't bring myself to read too much into anybody's play when they're against a team that has all but shut down for the year. Edmonton is even worse. They're just bad on so many levels.

At least it made the game a little more interesting.

I liked what I saw. Guy will get a contract and every chance to make the team.

Many here make too much out of it. This is nothing to piss of Pirri or whatever. He just traveled with the team and trained with them since signing the contract. Neither will play in the POs

Throw out the first period and credit Q for removing him from the frying pan and then easing him back in. I thought his hands/vision were very good although his skating looked pretty average. I'm not sure he has an especially high ceiling, but he definitely showed some of the offensive upside that we need at #2C.
