That's exactly what they did on Tinordi's first call-up. A shutdown specialist didn't play one minute on the PK. Maybe they were over-protecting him by mostly playing him in low pressure situations.

Or maybe Therrien's love affair with Bouillon has no ends.

The diffence is when he was first called up everything was fine and the team was winning alot so even if the PK wasn't that good it was still enough to win and they wanted to shelter him.

It is what it is, but if Tinordi is blocked by Bouillon next year, it won't be because of Bouillon. Up to Tinordi to show up and make an impact. Not sure he's ready right now but next year, he should be.

Yeah, I remember those days. We were pretty invincible.

Nice story on the callup

“I definitely didn’t expect this,” the 21-year-old said Wednesday of the summons, freshly off the MTS Centre ice on which the Canadiens had just run through a spirited, even bruising 75-minute practice.

Doesn't he follow HF?

1a +1 7 hits.

Mission accomplished Jared. You'll never see time in the AHL again.

He played a monster game, there was no doubt about it, that was fun to see

hope he stays on the ice and not the press box from now on.

Therrien just said they sat him down this morning and said he's not here for development this time, it's his spot to earn now and he should take the chance and seize it

And he did tonight

That's great to hear. Tinordi has a bit to go until he meets his potential, and despite the opinions of some fans I believe that win or lose the experience he will gain from the playoffs this year will be invaluable. I have no worries about ruining his development. Way to go Jarred!

He's on this team to be physical and present a challenge for the opposition to get to Carey Price.

Management has to be sick and tired of watching Pricer get run over game after game, and Tinner can help resolve that. He did this tonight and was very strong, now if it rubs off on the rest of the team and they start standing up for each other this season can be turned around.

Tinordi was hammering everyone tonight! The kid is impressive. Love him.

Could he replace Emelin during his absence?

Yes, Diaz will accept a #7 defenseman spot.

If you're not playing him in your Top-6, you're trading him for a Top-6 winger.

WHAT???? Why wouldn't you want Subban playing with Tinordi (who is also very mobile for his size and can cover for Subban doing his thing offensively).

Markov-Subban
Tinordi-Diaz
Gorges-Emelin

Next year for me, with a chance of Beaulieu winning a spot over Diaz or Gorges if he can be moved.

He played great. Bouillon was atrocious.

Really impressed by his aggressiveness to pinch and with his first pass. He's a beast.

Nah, they could dress Moen and have him challenge someone with 30 seconds left.

I really think we should try this next year :

Subban-Tinordi
Markov-Emelin
Diaz-Gorges

PP1 : Subban-Markov
PP2: Diaz-Emelin

PK1 : Subban-Gorges
PK2 : Tinordi - Emelin
