Your darkhorse for '13 draft

Who do you think will potentially be a steal in the upcoming draft.

Samuel Morin - I think he will be one of the better d-man from the draft in 7-8 years when in his prime. I see him as potentially the best pure shut down d-man I've seen coming into a draft in as long as I can remember.

Kyle Burroughs.

Kid is ALL heart with some offence to boot. Long shot to make it but could turn out to be a gem if things go right for him

I would have said Zach Nastasiuk, but after CSS's final rankings, I'm not sure you could call him a darkhorse.

Agree with Sam Morin, flying under the rader for some. For myself I'd say Greg Betzold of the Pete's has some underrated potential.

Shea Theodore, kid can skate has wicked offence put up 50 points on a bad team, I've been saying it for a while if he goes past 15 he is a mega steal anywhere before that is a solid pick in my mind.

I've also been pumping Mirco Mueller for a while I really like him, big, mobile, physical,he's a prototypical D-man.

Those 2 are pretty highly rated but I still think one of them has an off chance to be a top ten pick if a team likes them enough.

Besides those 2 I like Jackson Houck and J.C Lipon, both guys are heart and soul third liners, but NHL calibre third liners in my mind.

Those are my picks.

I say Dominik Kahun as a German, for some reason I really think he can breakout next year. But he will need lots of time.

I'm not sure how far under the radar Morin is flying. He played at Top Prospects and now at U-18. I've talked to scouts that think he could sneak into the last few picks of the first round.

I'll echo Paquin-Boudreau.

Matt Buckles (St. Mike's, OJHL) is another one I like.

Ryan Hartman. Think he'll be a steal in the 20s.

I think he'll end up a Callahan / Ladd type player.

Marko Dano

Wings are gonna grab Dano, they take all the Slovaks recently. Tomas Tatar, Marek Tvrdon, Tomas Jurco.

Love Hartman and would not mind at all if the Leafs grab him.

He models his game after David Backes. He's got the tall genes and will grow further as well.

Baptiste. Still not ranked in top 100 in any credible list, having a great U18 tourney, second in scoring, and he's one of the youngest player over there. Size, skating, toughness. Plays all situations.

Needs to work a lot on play without the puck.

I'm sure there will be a goalie or two that will be huge steals as well

Marko Dano could be great if he ends up in the right organization... Red Wings perhaps? And MacKenzie Weegar is another guy in similar situation.

Someone that might not be a top 2 rounds but a later pick is Remi Elie of the Knights.

The kid improved his skating vastly in a year, big shot, and the biggest thing is he's a puck magnant. The kid is always all over the pucks and isn't afraid to get his nose dirty. There's a ton of untapped potentional because of who he is playing behind in London. Elie has been good enough in the playoffs to force himself into top 6 minutes at important times in games.

Dillon Heatherington. Getting some buzz lately, but I think he has top pairing potential in a shutdown role...similar to a Marc Staal. If he falls to the 2nd round, some team is going to get a stud.
