Man am I happy I made this thread. To all those that commented that I didn't watch him in Junior, of course you are correct. I felt he was shying away a bit from contact in his short NHL stint, but seeing all this is very positive for the future when he grows into his frame and gets some NHL strength. Very very exciting for the future.

So. A fight, some offensive flair and a french last name...he is now the next greatest thing since Lafleur.

Honestly, I'd get excited about a promising young offensive defenseman with a mean streak if his last name was Smith, Ivanov, Johansson or Tremblay. Doesn't matter what his last name is, we have a smallish guy that's proven he can play the offensive game with sandpaper in junior and now into the A, hopefully it translates to the NHL and as he gets bigger. Maybe you should spend less time trying to fit every post into a stereotype while trying to get your post count up.

Beaulieu is kind of like a Kris Letang type of fighter, but the way he skates, his size and his offensive ability/defensive non-abilities makes me think a lot of Mike Green. Having Mike Green on your team isn't a bad thing, if you have guys like Tinordi, Dietz backing you up defensively.

Nathan is a surprisingly good fighter. I've seen some good tilts of his in Saint John.

I can honestly say I don't think I've ever seen him lose a bout. At least not decisively. I've seen him fall once before things got going and some evenish ones, but I've never seen him get pummeled ever. I've seen him pummel others a few times.

It is true that we have a soft defensive core, Markov, Subban, Gorges, Weber, Kaberle, Emelin, Diaz can't fight and Bouillon drops em' only about once or twice a year, I don't expect much of him at his age to be honest. But the future looks bright, with the likes of Tinordi, Beaulieu, Ellis, Thrower, and a few others, not very good fighters but big guys in Pateryn and Dietz. +The upcoming draft, I expect MB to get a few power-forwards.

Since his junior days at the very least. He can throw them -- comparable in the NHL might be Andrew Ference.

Let me get this straight, you think Ellis is a good fighter yet Dietz isn't?

Dietz is probably the second best fighter on that list.
