When it comes to officiating, this year has been horrible for the NHL. So many horrid calls everywhere, even more so than previous years. Even with that, we should count our lucky stars we don't have NBA refs or MLB umps. All NBA officials to is give preferential treatment to superstars and rig games up the ass, while MLB umps hold grudges and have such inconsistent strike zones, it's not even funny. To me the NBA is the worst, but as NHL fans, we should thank our lucky stars we have it as good as we do when it comes to officiating in comparison to other NA pro leagues, how little it may show.
Honestly I think NHL refs suck the least out of all of them.
“The most terrifying fact about the universe is not that it is hostile, but that it is indifferent. If we can come to terms with this indifference and accept the challenges of life within the boundaries of death, our existence as a species can have genuine meaning and fulfillment. However vast the darkness, we must supply our own light.” - Stanley Kubrick
Although I will say that the NFL refs missing two of the most blatant holding calls ever in the dying seconds of the Superbowl this year was pretty bad. The league should be embarrassed that they missed such blatant calls during the two most important plays of the game.
