GDT - Baby Habs vs. York Lions, 7 PM est

There was no thread for discussion and post-game reports yet, so I figured I'd start one with the game starting in 4 hours.

It's the last game of the pre-finals tournament for our prospect group.

Leading the way offensively thus far are Mikhail Grabovski (2-2-4), Kyle Chipchura (0-3-3), and Matt D'Agostini (2-1-3), with a number of players including Mathieu Aubin, Sergei Kostitsyn, and Guillaume Latendresse at 2 points each.

I'm expecting Loic Laccasse to get his first start of the tournament today, against a team that has put up virtually no fight thus far, the York University Lions.

The Lions fell to the Florida Panthers 5-1, and to the Toronto Maple Leafs 7-0.

The Baby Habs (1-0-1) have virtually guaranteed themselves a spot in tomorrow's 4 PM final. The only way they miss is if they somehow lose to York, AND the Florida Panthers beat the Toronto Maple Leafs.

So... Go Habs Go! And if anyone is going, be sure to write up your thoughts, as well as a box score, after the game! (ooh, and pictures too if possible )

Well I never said they were THE Baby Habs. They're just a group of Baby Habs.

Lacasse will make it close.....and that's not in a good way.... Maybe we should ask the Lions to put Price in the nets for them...

There is no way we should lose this game. Coach Muller could play and we should still win.

Like Legolas says.

I've played that level of hockey and I was GOOD in that level of hockey. There's NO WAY that NHL prospects lose against a squad of walk-on student players.

That's good news. Probably shouldn't expect too much, though.

I'm hoping Muller gives more ice time to the unsigned junior level players and camp invitees who likely won't go to the Habs main camp. They've been overshadowed by Kostitsyn, Chipchura, Grabovski , Latendresse etc.. Why not really give them a chance to show what they can do?

i hope to come back from the game with a report and media like last time, but i am leaving now fro the office (i had to stay late) im not sure i can make it downtown before the puck drops. i work uptown, and it will take me at least an hour to get there if not longer, and at this point im not even sure i will go depending on how bad traffic is. (yes traffic IS that bad in toronto, dont get me started )

so if i dont make it, im sorry.

A poster on the Leafs boards has said that Sportsnet reports the Leafs won their game 5-3.

This means whether we win or lose (God help us) vs. York, we will be in the finals tomorrow vs. Toronto.

That'll be fine. We don't need all the details of their performance against the York Lions.

It should be an easy game, we're indeed playing vs the Lions of the CIS.

Sadly, the result will be up at 10 pm (around this time) and it's usually my bed time. Do not laugh.

It was 4-0 mid-way through the first, per Ron Fournier.

Yeah. Like I said, it's no match.
