It's only 500,000 $ more than Koivu .

do you think that he's going to be trade now they ink him ?
It sounds like the Hossa signing of the last season .

It's a fair price for him I think. He went for the longterm cash instead of signing a one-year deal and then putting up more big numbers with Forsberg so he could demand $6+. But Forsberg is gonna get hurt, so it was the right move.

People are quick to give the credit to Forsberg for Gagne's carrer season , but let's not forget that with the new rules Gagne can take advantage of his assets more than ever. I think Gagne is good for 35/40goals , with Forsberg or not.

That's a good deal more than what Clarke said was his final offer. Gagné called his bluff and won. Now let's stop all talk of trading for him. His salary seems unaffordable for the Habs.

too much for Gagne who heavilly relied on Forsberg last season. He could put up 35-40 max but he would not hit 50 without a player of Forsberg's talent!

I disagree. I think it's fair, and maybe even a bit of a bargain. I consider Gagne an elite player. He's fast, great defensively AND a finisher.

Tanguay got the same deal, didn't he? Would anyone argue that Tanguay was better than Gagne?

Well Tanguay surely proven more. Gagne dosen't get the respect he deserve in Philly , people say he would not score 50 without Forsberg but more like 35-40... what's the price of a 40goals scorer who can play on the PK ?! He got fair value and nothing more imo.

It's alot of cash, but let's face it the Flyers have no choice.Let's not make fun of Bobby Clarke giving him too much money in case he ever gets traded here
