Deadthings feed is talking non-stop about the possibility of Weber getting traded.

I'd make things up to talk about if the other option was to discuss the possibility of missing the playoffs for the first time since the first Bush administration.

The more things change, the more things stay the same.

I mean, we can't possibly afford such a contract. We should really just give him up to a big market team.

Keep giving them powerplays and this is what happens.

We've had our chances. I hope we can at least get one more goal.

Mason is just not good. Not just the last goal; his rebound control is non-existent.

Nice shot by Datsyuk ... well placed, used Weber as a screen ... kept playing with fire and taking penalties. A good first period for the most part, bad 2nd overall ... 20 mins to go.

How many games has Peks had like that this season? Peks hasn't had .840 sv% in any of his last three games. How much is the guy in the mask right now ... how much is the team giving up far too many quality chances?

Mueller did everything but shoot the puck on that breakaway.

The Franzen goal he came off the post too early. The other three were either significant defensive lapses in front of him or just a hell of a shot. Not a great game from Mase, but not the abomination that he'll get accused of. To win, he needed to channel those first two starts against Minny and he simply isn't playing at that level tonight.

Would love to see Weber put one more on Zetterburg's face for old time's sake.

With wins by Ottawa and the NY Rangers the Peggers are out of the playoffs again.

He just gave up a bad rebound but nobody had position on Abdelkader ... one he needs to corral or guide someplace safe. SK needs to play some defense there as well.

How about you analyze the earlier goals and explain what Mason was supposed to do on the Datsyuk, Eaves, and Fipplula goals? Explain why Mason is gets slammed for a performance that Rinne gets a pass for. I realize that is harder than claiming I have a "man crush" on a player, but, it is also more adult.

lol take a friendly jab...

i think everyone knows our team defense has been inept for most of the year. too many new faces to keep our solid structure we usually see from our guys.. rinne still needs to be better next year.

Neither goalie has done what we've needed. Rinne has 13 starts to date with a lower sv% than what Mason put up tonight. Only Mason's starts at Minny were better performances than tonight.

I can honestly blame Mason for two of the goals tonight ... Franzen and Abdelkader. Huge defensive lapses allowed Fipplula and Eaves to get way too open in dangerous parts of the ice. Datsyuk perfectly used Weber as a screen and unleashed an amazing shot. Those types of lapses have been a problem up and down our lineup no matter who is in goal.

Luck was on our side early tonight, then switched colors. Butler gets an open net, puts a quick backhand at it, of Howard's head. Story of the season.

They're used to talking about things that are absolutely untrue.

"It was an elbow to the face by Weber. That's what upset Lilja."

Happy Birthday Rich Clune. Great pass to Fisher for the opening goal, +1 on the night, +3 on the year. I wish I could have bottled all the negative things said about him on this board when he got here.

Pretty solid responsible player.

My God, no more Mason... (no more Blum would be nice too... no more Kostitsyn and I'd be happy about the 4500 bucks I just plunked down on next year.)

I really can't blame Mase for Franzen's goal, either. That was a hell of a shot by Franzen in close like that.
