Price and Subban both had a swag move tonight.

Price with Da Save.
PK smashing his stick, running to the bench and back in time to receive a pass in extremis (shows you the quality of his effort), passes to Markov, clear his spot from the broken stick parts, and then perform a slapshot.

We need a gif of that sequence. Man PK has superswag.

Understood. I never said you were bipolar. I'm merely suggesting you're allowed to re-evaluate your opinion from time to time.

It seems that when DD does well a lot of our fanbase is upset. Not specifically you but I can imagine some at home "****, DD scored GWG, Jesus Christ".

The guy's performance over the year has been average to below expectations but it hasn't been hate worthy. It hasn't earned the reputation its gotten here.

On a less pessimistic note, I actually liked Montreal's performance in the first minutes of the game. They were controlling the tempo of the game before Eller's penalty and Price was solid tonight. That's why basing yourself on save % when you evaluate a goalie's contribution is flawed, how many shots did the Jets have in the first two periods, like 9? But 5 of those were quality chances. Tinordi was really good tonight, he looked confused on the 1st goal but that was all on Bouillon imo, not excuse to turn that over. Tinordi was more physical than he was in his stint earlier this year. Eller imo has been our best forward in the last two months and it showed again tonight. Galchenyuk had a rough first but he played better in the last 40 minutes of the game.

I agree with what you are saying, oddly enough. Where you missed though, is that DD is in a situation where he should be 10 times better. Also, did he play well tonight ? He made one play driving to the net and got a good bounce(Good on him) but look at his whole body of work... Was it good ?

Price's save on the breakaway was unreal and definitely saved the game for the Habs by that point. Big save.

Price was stunning tonight. The 2 goals against were on Bouillon and he should sit I think.

Also, Tinordi played much better than I expected. He was physical, smart with the puck and played like a 10 year vet overall. Really impressed with the young man!

10 times better? So instead of being a .5 PPG guy he should be a 5 PPG player?

Is it about points ? At some points, when someone doesn't produce, okay, but when the player is absolutely abysmal ?

I saw him more engaged. Winning battles in back of the net. We've seen him be elusive in 'behind the net puck battles', often beating out big talented guys like Thornton for puck possession but we didn't see it much this year. Seeing DD fight for position and get a good bounce is encouraging. Is he free from any criticism? Absolutely not. Still, it's encouraging. End of the day, he can contribute and we need this team to be confident going into playoffs. So, I'm happy by some of the hustle he's showing lately. It's encouraging.

FWIW, I believe DD's PPG was higher in 2nd half of last season than in first. Hopefully it's a trend we can use here.

Kinda to support mrb1p, it's crazy how bad the Desharnais line is defensively. Max Pac & Desharnais have to be some of the worst forwards I've ever seen defensively, when the play is stuck in our own end, it almost leads to an automatic goal against. It happened again tonight in the 2nd period when Winnipeg was buzzing in our zone and Wheeler finally scored.

Fans are mad that it took him 20 freaking games to score that goal. They also mad that the Habs tried to get DD going on the PP for all that time. God only know how many goals it cost the team.

If you're encouraged that he tipped a puck, we'll have to disagree to agree(What)

A win that will help build the confidence back up. Really encourage by Price's performance. He was decent. He will never be an elite goalie, but if he can give us average goaltending, then we have a chance to win.

Eller with 27 pts in 45 games... that's almost 50 pts in a 82 games season. That's very good especially when he basically never plays on the PP.

How many third line center in the league has as many pts as Eller?
