Barkley would of been an even worse pick.

EJ had fastest 40 yard dash, highest jump, and 2nd highest distance jump. He is a physical freak. Him and CJ will cause terror to defenses if he can make the easy passes and read defenses.

Having a great line and Spiller and Jackson should help him out.

Having NFL defenses that are just as talented as yor WRs and as fast as he is will not help.

Problem is they could of picked a talented player (like Jones) and traded up for EJ with the 2 2nds.... I don't mind Manuel.... think he is the 2nd best choice at QB in the draft.... just that the 1st round (when no other QB was drafted) seems too high.

I'm a huge FSU fan and Manuel fan. And i don't think he translate at all to the pros. He lacks awareness, accuracy, foot work, a lot of stuff. He's big and he's a good athlete. That's about it. Honestly, I'm just glad it wasn't Nassib. I hated this entire QB class.

I wanted Eifert.

Isn't this one of the biggest knocks against him? His inability to do just that?

Don't like it but apathy towards our drafts has seeped into my bones over so many years so, I guess I don't really care. It is what it is. Let's see what they do with the extra pick. Probably waste it

Yeah, I didn't particularly want to draft any QB (at least not in the first couple of rounds) either. Bottom line is that the Bills could have been pretty decent last year if their defense was even average. I don't consider Kolb a downgrade from Fitzpatrick, so an improvement defensively under the new coaching staff could go a long way on this team against a schedule that doesn't look particularly intimidating.

Think the Bills are going TE and WR in round two and add a ton of speed to the offense. With Spiller and eventually Manuel, this team is going to be a defensive coordinators nightmare trying to contain that much speed.

The fact that you hate this pick so much makes me feel much better about it.

Don't worry, when it comes to evaluating players I'm right a lot more then I'm not.Enjoy the bust at QB, every single publication has given the pick an F grade.Match made in heaven, terrible team and a terrible draft pick.

Since they already picked a QB, it would be really dumb to not address their horrible defense at #41 and #46, even if Smith or Nassib are available.

Yeah, I tend to agree, the Bills front office has zero credibility when it comes to off the board selections. This is going to be a disaster. The Bills have shown over the last 10 years that they are not smarter than everyone else, and when they try to buck the conventional wisdom is explodes in their face.

Look what Marrone was able to do for Nassib over 3 years, imagine what he can do with Manuel.

The overreactions are quite amusing. I get not being a fan of the pick but man the hate...kid hasn't played a snap for us and won't for months but he's already JP Losman.

The problem is that a lot of people are NCAA fans and HAVE seen him play. He's not a legit NFL QB for 2013. If the plan is to sit him and have him get coached up for a season or two, then I guess I can live with the pick, but question why that player is taken in the first round.

The negative nancies...aka, the "correct nancies", for the past 15 years.

We aren't gonna be good next year. We wouldn't with Tom Brady. Lets let Marrone see what he can do with him. I'd rather they got their guy a bit early than their 2nd or 3rd rated guy at a place of "appropriate value."

that's fair, but there are a lot of areas of need out there for the ole bills...especially with the Bills' history of taking non-consensus picks being as disastrous as it is. I don't think its unreasonable or surprising that the common theme is "here we go again"

Which we can address with two 2nds. It's a weak year anyways. Talent drop off between 16 and 40 whatever it is isn't as big as in normal years.

Here we go again is a fine attitude.

The people who seem like they want to burn down the team are a bit crazy though.
