Hopefully next year they can find a more suitable fourth team to play against. There isn't much to prove by blowing out a mediocre CIS team.

I agree, but it's still funny.

Damn... how do you want to evaluate talent when you face such weak opposition?

Poor guys. Imagine loosing 9-0 after 2 periods. As always, the Canadiens organisation showed class by ending it early (thx bob!).

They shoud've made a team with a pool of the 3 other NHL prospects (a darkhorse team) instead of humiliating a weak club... Or made a team of undrafted invites (the undrafted club?)

reminds me of the games of EA NHL when i used to beat my buddy by ridiculous scores...actually most of the time the game wouldnt finish because he would hit the reset button on his SNES
Gainey asked for a 3rd period with no clock stoppage (meaning 20 mins real time, regardless of play stoppage).

I think tomorrow's game will probably help in that department...after all the "easy" thing to do is not to play hard tomorrow after a game like tonight...the real evaluation is on who shows up tomorrow and plays well

When Carle has to show his offensive insticts that's what happens. I told you he was good and intense. He proved it. I know he won't have 7 pts every game but it just shows you that he's got the talent.

It would have been better if they could have found a quality CIS team to play against, but York was probably just more convenient due to their proximity to the event. York wasn't even a .500 team last season and were eliminated in the first round of the OUA playoffs. There are several CIS teams who would have been much more competitive.

And you know something? There are better programs in the CIS than York. That's right, they didn't even face a powerhouse.

York usually has lots of walk-on student players who didn't play in the juniors. I played for Concordia and back then we could have chopped York in small pieces. McGill, StFX, Ottawa & others were way better. McGill with Kim St-Pierre in nets could have done better tonight.

I don't know if the CIS ever graduated a player to the NHL.

It was an unfair game really. But I don't think their spirits will be crushed or anything. Once you're in the CIS, your spirit's already crushed when it comes to hockey. In CIS, you pretty much only play for fun.

As silly as it sounds, with Canada being Hockey Country, American college hockey is better than the CIS. Case in point, many Canadians who are going for academics on top of hockey go play in the NCAA, not the CIS.

This game tonight doesn't prove much. The tournament finals will be interesting though.

This kind of game is so pointless. Can't evaluate anyone...only bad things can happen. Like some guy getting hurt. They better find an other prospect team next year.

Chipper was pointless......Send him in the ECHL.....

Desjardins, since he's not going to play in the Finals should've help the Lions though.

Can't believe they sit Mikus for that one. That was a perfect opportunity for him to regain some confidence even though it was an easy game....

Having 7 points against York University players ain't really any indication...
