Did the Cowboys trade out of the first round?

Dropped 13 spots in the 1st (to 31st) and all they got back was a 3rd.

There's not really much to get mad about as long as you understand the organization is in an indefinite holding pattern.

When Coby and Harrison (and Feliz?) return, we'll have a rotation to contend with.

They'll slot Feliz into the bullpen to be careful with his arm. Colby will be a huge addition if he makes it back into form for the playoffs (assuming the Rangers make them).

Not only that, but before that there was a pop up Beltre was ready for and Andrus got close so Beltre swung his glove at Elvis' head then stared him down after he caught it. I love watching Beltre interact with his teammates.

Rangers fans out in force @ Arizona Diamondbacks today. The only thing not here is the Rangers offense ...

Yep. Arizona had success with their fans last year with one so they did it again this year.

I don't really follow the Rangers; why was Murphy pitching tonight?

Trying to save the bullpen an inning after a pitiful start from Grimm.

Does this happen often?
Is this also a glaring example of meaningless games caused by a lengthy season?

Eh not often but it does happen a few times a year. I'd just say it was a factor of knowing they were going to lose. You just can't go down by that much with two of your best offensive players injured.

according to espn rangers blog, murphy was the 6th position player to pitch in rangers history, the most notorious being jose canseco blowing out his arm chucking dozens of knuckleballs warming up in the bullpen.

this happens to, as mentioned before, save the bullpen (rangers play 20 games in 20 days starting this game). also, it happens in games that are out of hand (rangers losing 17-5 when murphy came in, 17-3 when he was warming up).

that said, he has an e.r.a. or zero, w.h.i.p. of one, and k/9 of 9!

He might have to pitch again.
